    December freight & fun

Now if everyone had listened to me and switched to natural gas...you could have put a tarp around the tanks and chopped the supply line...would have blown the load right out into your van :D (Lawyers note: this advice is purely hypothetical and humorous and could result in serious personal and...

    Hot Logic Oven

Looks interesting but I always get lazy and my appliances end up collecting dust...if you're home enough it seems like a good idea for reheats Got a 12v coffeemaker and sandwich maker in the garage...considered a slow cooker but same thing I'm lazy Without a bathroom in the Sprinter at one...

Cargo Van When to replace your van

Bearing and overrunning clutch are fine, just the electronics bolted on are shot...cheap spare if I fix... I was inspired to check it out, it's still way underpowered (vw tdi 2.0 car motor in various power outputs) but they were complaining it only gets 37 mpg (imperial gallons) and the others...

Expedite companies that lease on older vans?

Maximum he can get, and I see the contracts as proof. Pay is good if the chitchat in here's accurate, and his direct customers are really good Our previous carrier in common stopped looking for backhauls years ago, so imagine all those runs you took with a guaranteed unpaid deadhead back home...

    December freight & fun

Factory Espar is connected to factory starting battery. My "hybrid" deep cycles are happy being starter or deep cycles (simple marine batteries) and charge off a wire attached to the front battery post. Not ideal, but simple, effective, and they last 4-5 years. This gives me 2000 cold cranking...

    December freight & fun

I don't know whether to run the Espar power source to my deep cycles or just leave them all connected...it risks running the starter battery down but it's zero effort because they're already wired to charge from the starter battery...anybody know the draw on the espar / coolant fan/ coolant...

Cargo Van When to replace your van

I'm all over the Promaster 3500 diesels, it's a 2003-2006 sprinter with cheaper parts. When to replace? My system is when a whole new van is cheaper than fixing like a blown motor for example I've got a 2005 and I'm running as much as I want, until that changes, banking a down...

Cargo Van When to replace your van

Sure...but should they make a dollar a mile while I make 70 cents and pay fuel maintenance insurance tolls vehicle cost plates etc? After seeing the inside rates, it's pretty disgusting IMO I'm good with giving away 30% for them to handle all the paperwork and phone calls but take any more...

Cargo Van When to replace your van

Base rate...too complicated...we get whatever we can out of every load and I get proof of what was charged Had enough of a carrier collecting more than I make off a run

Cargo Van When to replace your van

My last company was 50% unpaid deadhead. They had their own customers which paid well, but no paid deadhead and they didn't do back hauls very often. I lasted 4 months there after switching to a diesel sprinter, and that's staying too long!

Cargo Van When to replace your van

You guys have me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. No payments, 2005 van, all the miles I want at rates you're discussing and above...and no he stopped hiring for now :p Now to convince the wife to let me work more than 3 days a week....
