Spec'ing a Straight Truck for MPG

I like the idea of tall gearing in an oversize motor like Roadtime suggested. Of course I'd have to invest some cash, when I could just buy a smaller straight truck and work with it right away I also dislike the USA 11 hours, but it would give me lots of time to post here :p

    National DOT map?

It goes region by region unfortunately. Most areas have the "511" info graphic but it doesn't zoom out that far in my findings

    GMC vs Ford

You'll be forever defending the choice of a cube here. By definition it falls into the regulated class, and nobody here would take the risk (at least publicly) And finally they get to vent their frustration even tho yours isn't yellow and falling apart You aren't taking my freight. I can't...

    Chains

K I looked it up "According to the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, the occasional use oftire chains to drive through icy or snowconditions is not illegal. However, continuous use of traction devices on dry paved roads is illegal in Ontario." That's nice and clearly stated isn't it :p...

    Chains

I have to confess I've never used them. Combined with a locking rearend, General Arctic Alpine got me thru anything under 5ish feet (when the snow went over the hood of my Ram Van 3500) The looks on the faces of the 4WD guys was priceless. No, open wheel peel x 2 doesn't beat 1 good locker I...

    Extra battery

I've used the hillbilly method for 12 years. 2 walmart deep cycle group 31 marine batteries (cheap, can be charged by your alternator) and a cutoff switch with a big red plastic key. I wire to my van starter battery for charging, and disconnect for parking so I can use my fantastic fan and...

    Carriers, riddle me this

I still have a hunch a driver going out once a week for $500 more than covers back office for that unit, assuming like me, they pay everything save cargo insurance (and large companies self insure, right?) Now taking care of a large customer with diverse needs...all I know is picking a load off...

    Carriers, riddle me this

From this perspective, the Load 1 app seems like a game changer. Cut office costs, and give the driver more control makes them happier too. That's really what I'd like to see. An uber style app that lets you pick and choose
