single, looking for agood women to share the road w

RE: single, looking for agood women to share the ro If the avatar were reversed, I could be the other foot - because it would be a left foot, which both of mine seem to be. Except when I'm in Margaritaville, of course. Thank you kindly, JoeBob, but I'm happy being a roadrunner - & I'm makin...

    HOS (HOUR OF SERIVE) NEWBIE

( Oh , that's right , vans don't have >to log . ) Vans have to log when hauling hazmat, & I recently ran into a problem with a DOT inspection, which I find very hard to believe has not been addressed before - logging the previous seven days. I have logged when driving t/t, & I know that it's...

    essentials

I wouldn't leave without my cell phone & debit/credit card - also my laptop, but it isn't strictly necessary, I'm just getting spoiled! I just found a sheet-fed scanner the size of a roll of aluminum foil, that means I don't need to have a copy of the BOL (no more looking for a copy machine), I...

single, looking for agood women to share the road w

RE: single, looking for agood women to share the ro Rich, after 20 years of expediting, you oughta KNOW where I'm going, lol! From wherever I am, to wherever the load is, then to wherever the load needs to be, right? Or have I been doing it wrong? :P

single, looking for agood women to share the road w

RE: single, looking for agood women to share the ro My thoughts on feet?! I like to put mine up whenever possible, & I don't like to wear shoes, so the foot avatar reminded me of when I drove a t/t, & could occasionally put my left foot up on the door - it got some double-takes from people...

single, looking for agood women to share the road w

RE: single, looking for agood women to share the ro All right, I kept quiet when you took the avatar that I chose because I associated it with being comfortably carefree, & gave it an association that I don't care to imagine, but you asked where to find "women to share the road with" so I have...

    2006 Goals

My short term goal is to build up the savings that I depleted last year. 05 was my first year as an owner/operator, & it was great to find so much advice & help here, especially when you're spending soooo much money! Thanks to everyone who helped me spend it (I think) wisely. My long term...

Panther & single vans.. Mileage limit?

Um, I sure hope he didn't get that far ahead of schedule, lol. Sometimes we pick up a load on Friday for a Monday delivery, which usually gives 2 & 1/2 days to get there, so 1800 is not unheard of.

    WALMART

Redytrk is correct, the Road Atlas lists all locations, and it only costs $5.00. Which is good, as it's unlaminated, & therefor subject to wear & tear. And spilled coffee.....:o

    Living in a wireless world

Rest areas in Iowa offer free wireless now. I posted awhile ago that I checked with Verizon, as I am a cell subscriber, & they said I would have to buy a card for $200, then pay $80 per month. I don't think I'd need the card, as my laptop has an internal whatever-it-is, but even so - no thanks...

    Why leave now?

Thank you for posting this question - it isn't just the carriers who could benefit from the voice of experience, you know. I'd bet a lot of drivers who have never done it have thought about it, and would like to hear how it turned out for those who made the leap. I'm happy where I am, haven't...

    Expand the expo ?

Bravo, Lawrence - I think you've scored a bullseye this time! :9 PS: I ask every driver I talk to if they know EO, & then I tell them to check it out, because, amazingly, most of them never heard of it! The only bad news is that I seldom actually talk to other drivers, but I'm trying, lol.

    The $40,000 toilet

When I woke up this morning in Connecticut, & I could see my breath, in spite of the propane heater, I hit the highway west. But three times I had to get off, to whap the ice from the wipers. (I just don't have the wingspan to reach out the window) After the third experience of almost getting...

    Absent Minded

There have been so many times when I went upstairs (or down), outside (or in), or into another room, & then could NOT remember why, that I just decided to call it my exercise program. :D I've always wondered, though - how do people find their glasses, if they can't see without their glasses? :+

    Fedex Pfizer load Hi-Jacked

In orientation for Swift a few years ago, we were told the same thing: stopping every 2 hrs for a tire check is too predictable, and we should not create a pattern that hijackers could anticipate. It seems to me, though, that a hijacker would prefer that he choose where to accomplish his...

    Spec'ing the Expedite Truck

ATeam: do the last three sentences of your response completely contradict your tag line, or what? It looks like you're spending a whole lot of time, money, and effort for "just a truck"! If "just a truck" is your home, when's the housewarming? I, for one, would love to see it....

2 Questions: Streets and Trips and Wirless Interne

RE: 2 Questions: Streets and Trips and Wirless Int I forgot to mention - I checked with Verizon first, they charge $200 for a wireless card, AND $80 a month - no thanks. SBC Freedomlink is primarily for businesspeople, but there are hotspots everywhere I've gone so far, and I think that by the...

2 Questions: Streets and Trips and Wirless Interne

RE: 2 Questions: Streets and Trips and Wirless Int I had Wifi through TA, when it was "pay for one month, get one free", and it worked ok - as long as there's a TA where you are. When it expired, I switched to SBC Freedomlink, which costs $20 per month, & while it might not be the best choice...

    Canada Fast

Thanks, guys - I'm sure I told my carrier that I got the FAST card - maybe I should tell someone other than the dispatcher? lol (I don't drive for the black cat carrier, though I do think it's a cool logo) Luckily, I have a load onboard for delivery Monday morning within 25 miles of the...
