    New HOS Rules are out

I am sure by July of 2013 there will be a solution to this problem.

    New HOS Rules are out

This is the exemption for DoD but this does not cover everything that requires Dual Driver Protection: The final rule requires that if more than 8 consecutive hours on duty have passed since the last off-duty (or sleeper-berth) period of at least half an hour, a driver must take a break of at...

    New HOS Rules are out

There are a lot of reasons why that 1/2 hour will mess with a teams hours. Both people off of the clock at the same time will cause problems.

    New HOS Rules are out

Steve I think it has been looked into and studied a LOT... The goal seems to be to drive less on our own so that we do not need to use a restart.

    New HOS Rules are out

The new HOS will take a little more planning and thought into our work week. The restart could be interesting and when on long team loads the 1/2 hour break will be interesting for both team members to be off duty. We have made it through the last changes without much trouble I am sure we...

    Great Blog!

Thanks You guys! We are often asked how we can spend so much time together and still love each other. We were asked that question over and over when we first go into trucking and I started worrying about it. When there is a will there is a way and there was a will.

    Pre dispatch load info

Joe ask for the reroute to be emailed to you instead of waiting on them. We have always found when we sit through orientation, WG training, HazMat training we learn something new or we are able to get information clarified that makes our lives easier. Not saying all of it is good as parts can...

    Pre dispatch load info

Joe we haul a lot of DoD and maybe that is the difference as it is never a problem to have the route emailed to the the truck. Once the load has been dispatched I send a message on the QC asking that the reroute be sent to my email address. Usually within a short period of time I have a...

    Pre dispatch load info

ALWAYS get your reroute before pickup so you can plan the route and if there are any questions they can be addressed. Getting the route before hand has only been a problem with surface dispatchers a couple of times.

We have text messaging for our phone so all loads send us a message so we do not miss any load offers. We very seldom have out sound turned on as the noise wakes up the person sleeping.

Best time of year to start expediting??

The answer is it depends.... If you want to hit the road running hard then early fall is the best bet and if you want to start at a slower time and east into expediting I would suggest January. We had never driven team till we started expediting and we knew it would take some time to adjust so...
