Do you know of any carrier that has a policy allowing guns in a truck? Especially the carriers who have freight in Canada?

I do not know many surface trucks who average $1.80 a mile and I do not know of many White Gloves trucks interested in the Flat Rate programs.

is fedexcc who I should be with?

While you might make a little more per mile at another company or on a different program there is something else you need to consider. How many miles will you get each week with another company or in another program? It is great if you can make $2.00 a mile at a different company and then...

Future will we drive not using a phone?

I sent an email to Joe Rajkovacz, Regulatory Affairs, about OOIDA's stance on this issue and received this back: We (OOIDA) are completely opposed to any blanket ban. It cannot be supported by scientific evidence that a CMV driver talking on a cell phone is at ANY increased risk of having...

    FDcc flat rate?

I believe I have also heard that the fleet owner get a higher rate per mile then the one truck owner at Panther. What we find nice about FedEx Custom Critical is we do not have to find our own freight we are busy enough as it is. When we get into a bad area we are often relocated to a better...

Why we don't regularly park at truck stops!!!

In eleven years out here we have been hit twice in a truck stop with one being a marker light was busted on the trailer and once when a driver backing into our sleeper door. While i wish no one had ever hit us I feel as if we have not done to bad since we primarily park in truck stops.

    A Rude Awakening- A Rant-Pet Peeves

If we "only" delivered to docks I would be inclined to agree with you.... Expediting is often going inside a business and picking up freight or delivering inside a business. We deliver inside hospitals, banks, hotels, bases, and an assortment of customers who have never seen a dock...

    A Rude Awakening- A Rant-Pet Peeves

Trucking is a culture shock to many second career people including us. As a driver for US Xpress it was a rude awakening to a new world and frankly one we decided we could not handle and tried to get our of trucking. We found in a short time the wanderlust bug had grabbed us and we had to find...
