Tractors always give you more opportunities due to the amount of freight they are capable of hauling. They are also cheaper to purchase and are in great demand in this industry. If you have the qualifications to drive a T/T I would suggest you look that way especially if you are going to run solo.
Waiting 27 minutes on hold would be very frustrating I agree. I also imagine they were busy I hope taking load orders to keep everyone busy. It seems like it is really a interesting balance to keep enough people trained to take orders and answer questions from drivers and not be paying to many...
Jeff had the best sense of humor and he was fun to talk with. I also remember my last talk with Jeff when he said he had had enough and was done with staying alive by artificial means. He knew it was going to be quick and he had little time left.
His power to write about the Expedite...
It seems funny that you would think that... We do not lead a charmed life and we get our fair share of bad loads, bad roads, bad customers, bad weather, and bad days. The key is how do you handle bad situations that are beyond your control.
In our years of Expediting we have had a couple of these at least but as soon as they are over we forget them.
The most recent was this year with a load going a little over 500 miles that took over 30 hours to deliver.

Funny how online forums work and when I received the phone call from an unknown phone number that Ed Wallace had passed away... "I said Who?" and once again the unknown voice said Ed's wife wanted me to find you and let you know that Ed had passed away. Once again I asked Who? and he said oh...
We were able to meet John several time over the years and always enjoyed his company. Some of his stories would have me laughing so hard my sides would hurt for days. He was really a great guy and always willing to give anyone a helping hand. He is missed

How is this going to drive down rates? I did not realize that the qualifications to be in WG set rates?
The info was also in the weekly email and I do wish that qualifications to get into WG would go higher and if that can not be done get rid of WG as it does not mean much any more.
You can get dog ramps rather easily and you will have to find a way to store the ramp so that it is easy to get to, easy to set up and take down. The other problem is that with straight trucks is that we usually back in a little further then the big trucks to protect the front of the truck...

I am passing on the information...
Team Run Smart Vicious Eating Blog
I found this interesting web site and was able to down load the free book and read. I thought about one of the bad habits we can have out here when driving is mindless eating and all of the sudden the bag of chips is gone.
There are several foods that once...
