panther_photos.jpgPanther II Transportation's employees were busy over the last two weeks, collecting donated relief supplies to send to the hurricane-devastated areas in Louisiana and Mississippi.

A truck was donated by Last Chance Logistics fleet owner Jeff Mason, with two of his team drivers, Jacqueline Worley and Heidi Balzak, volunteering their driving services for the trip south.

After a collection period at Panther II headquarters in Seville, Ohio, the truck was then taken to Perkins Middle School in Akron, Ohio where students under the supervision of Linda Sunyak, home development teacher, went to work.

The school children had put up flyers in their neighborhood requesting donations and they participated in the collection process as well.  Through their efforts, the kids were able to collect enough supplies to fill the remained of the 24' straight truck, top to bottom.

She goes on to say, "These kids really deserve a pat on the back for the great job they did and for all their hard work.  There will be a lot of people whose lives are just a little easier because of this."

Jacqueline and Heidi delivered the supplies this past Sunday at a church in River Ridge, Louisiana (an area outside of hurricane Rita's landfall).
