seminar2.jpgDarin Mark, Recruiting Director for Landstar Express America is a contented man.

As the organizer of Landstar's expediting seminar/workshop informally titled, "Getting Back to the Basics", held in Brentwood, TN on November 24, Mark says he was very pleased with the turnout for the event.

"I thought it was fantastic!  Our speakers did a great job with topics of interest to our audience and we had a great group of attendees from the different areas of expediting."

We had company personnel as well as owner-operators at the meeting. There were around 30 people in attendance with some of them making the trip from northeastern Ohio, Missouri and other areas.  We really seminar1.jpg"appreciate them coming by and helping us make this inaugural event a success.  For us, it was well worth the effort and the time."

The meeting was designed by Mark to be an informational get-together
about the expediting business "in light of what promises to be a great 2004."

The presentations began with Ms. Lisa Rouse, a representative from the Tennessee Department of Transportation who discussed the new HOS regulations.

seminar3.jpgLawrence McCord, General Manager of Expediters Online.com continued the guest speaker segment of the seminar with his PowerPoint presentation entitled, "5 Simple Tips To Succeed in Expediting."

McCord was followed by Jon Zetterberg, an independent sales agent who addressed the topic of selling to shippers in today's expedited market.

Jon Mosier of Freightliner of Knoxville was in attendance and he says, "For this first event, I think it went very well and a lot of information was available for the expediters in the audience.  I was there to get a feel for what the seminar was all about and I was very pleased with the result."

scott_mccahan.jpg"There seems to be a real desire on the part of owner-operators to learn a new way to manage their business and we discussed ways to accomplish that," states Lawrence McCord.

"Darin Mark and Landstar Express America should be applauded for helping the expediting owner-operator harvest information to increase their profitability."

Darin Mark says that another seminar/workshop date has already been scheduled for Monday, February 9, 2004.  The location is the Holiday Inn Express in Monroe, MI. on I-75, Exit 15.
