Garmin Enters the Truck GPS Market

GREENTOWN, PA - For years, truck drivers all across America have been waiting with great anticipation for Garmin's entry into the 'commercial truck GPS' market. Garmin's entry may not have been the first, but Garmin certainly did not come in last! Ordinary GPS receivers work very well for the average 'car driving' population, but semi-truck drivers have special rules to follow on the road, called route restrictions they must adhere to when driving large, heavy loads.

With a 'car GPS' truckers couldn't get critical extra data they needed, like bridge heights, or specialized Hazmat routes. Weight restricted roads, that could cost the driver unnecessary maneuvering through traffic, lost time, or worse, a ticket for weighing more than is allowed on that road, were not identified either. Garmin's Truck GPS speaks the street names and directions out loud, so there is no need to look away from the road while driving. The Nuvi 465T is a Bluetooth GPS For Commercial Truck Drivers.
