Garmin Enters the Truck GPS Market
GREENTOWN, PA - For years, truck drivers all across America have been waiting with great anticipation for
Garmin's entry into the 'commercial truck GPS' market.
Garmin's entry may
not have been the first, but Garmin certainly did not come in last!
Ordinary GPS receivers work very well for the average 'car driving'
population, but semi-truck drivers have special rules to follow on the
road, called route restrictions they must adhere to when driving large,
heavy loads.
With a 'car GPS' truckers couldn't get critical extra data they needed,
like bridge heights, or specialized Hazmat routes. Weight restricted
roads, that could cost the driver unnecessary maneuvering through
traffic, lost time, or worse, a ticket for weighing more than is
allowed on that road, were not identified either. Now, all that has
changed.
"
Garmin has introduced a truck driver's GPS, the Nuvi 465T.
It has that sleek
Nuvi design, yet it's specifically programmed for the things commercial
truck drivers need. Things we usually never even give a second thought
to, like bridge heights, Hazmat guidelines, and road weight
restrictions are pre-programmed into Garmin's Nuvi 465T," said Julie
Bechthold, the owner/operator of Great Eagle Tech, a leading online
truck GPS seller. "We at Great Eagle Tech are honored to be chosen one
of the few 'online-only' retailers to carry this special new product,"
said Julie.
Garmin's Truck GPS
speaks the street names and directions out loud,
so there
is no need to look away from the road while driving.
The Nuvi 465T is a
Bluetooth GPS For Commercial Truck Drivers. It lets the driver answer
their Bluetooth-enabled cell phone with a touch of a screen on the GPS,
and have a 'no hands needed' conversation. This is especially important
for drivers in those states that have outlawed holding a cell phone
while driving.
This Nuvi 465T even has "lane assist," which will come in very handy with a large load in a busy metropolitan area. It also comes with an FM Traffic Message Channel (TMC) Traffic Receiver, to receive traffic information broadcast over the FM Radio Data System. In North America, traffic receivers provide you with free, ad-based traffic information that does not require a subscription.
Nuvi 465T is a truly versatile GPS system. You can
turn it into a "car GPS," just by changing the settings
on the size and
weight of the vehicle. It also comes with many of the terrific features
that have made Garmin a household name, like a picture viewer, a world
clock, a measurement and currency converter and a calculator, and so
much more. Not only does Garmin have a large database of "POI's"
(Points Of Interest), but the 465T lets you to program in your
favorites! We've only mentioned a few of the great features that are
included in this entry into the Commercial Truck Driver's GPS System,
there are many more.

About Great Eagle Tech
Great Eagle Tech has been in business online, going on 3 years. They
got interested in Truck GPS Systems about a year and a half ago, when a
truck driver called asking about them. They didn't have any, and didn't
know of any. They did some research and found the first ones that were
just coming out on the market: TeleType's WorldNav models. Since then,
their main goal has been to find the 'best of the best' to offer to
America's truck drivers. They started focusing on providing the best
service possible for truck drivers and sales went through the roof.
Great Eagle Tech carries all 3 major brands of Truck GPS Systems on the market today. Including TeleType's WorldNav
models, PC Miler
, by ALK Technologies (famous for CoPilot(R) Truck GPS
Navigation Software for Laptops), and now Garmin
. They have plans to add the Rand McNally Truckers GPS, just as soon as it becomes available.
