Just to balance things out

Any out-of-balance condition in the wheel-tire assembly creates uneven tire wear, reducing tire life, say the manufacturers of Balance Masters
Self-Adjusting Wheel Balancers.

Balance Masters says that their product will prevent this condition and increase tire life up to 50% or more. Balance Masters mounts directly behind the wheel assembly and has a 100 day unconditional money back guarantee with proof of purchase. They also have a 3-year factory warranty against defects in material and workmanship.

Balance Masters states that their wheel balancers will help to reduce wear rate on steering suspension, driveline, brakes and wheel components ordinarily subjected to excessive vibration as well as help to reduce trailer bounce during hard stops, driver fatigue, improves passenger comfort and reduces costly downtime.

According to a company press release, Balance Masters Continuous Active Balancing System works by centrifugal force which precisely positions the liquid in counter-weight positions. This technology eliminates the lumping effects caused by shot filled hub mounted and tire fluid products.

Balance Masters also works with gravity to created down force effect to hold the tire down on the road. This gives the tire more footprint and better control in cold, icy and wet conditions.

Check that tire pressure from the cab

National studies show many of America's trucks have under inflated tires that could fail, causing costly, dangerous accidents.  The Department of Transportation estimates that 4 million gallons of fuel per day (over 1.3 billion per year) are wasted annually and approximately 80,000 accidents each year are attributed to low tire pressure.

Truck tires are the second greatest expense next to the actual fuel cost of commercial fleets in the transportation industry.  The lack of adequate tire pressure monitoring leads to thousands of dollars wasted per truck, every year.

The patented Doran PressurePro replaces the traditional tire valve stem cap with an extreme duty and road-tested pressure transmitter, says a company press release. The Doran PressurePro Tire Pressure Monitoring System displays the precise tire pressure of each truck tire directly to the driver, right from the comfort of the driver seat.

-No valve caps to remove.

-No checking the tire pressure outside in undesirable weather.

With a tire pressure Sensor on each truck wheel and the Monitor plugged into the cab, tire pressure monitoring is made effortless, says the manufacturer.

Continually monitoring the precise air pressure in each truck tire with the Doran PressurePro Tire Pressure Monitor is simple and straightforward for both the driver and mechanic.  When tire pressure drops 12% or more, the transmitter automatically sends a wireless signal to the display in the cab to alert the driver of tire pressure.

The driver can see which tire is losing air, and how fast, allowing time to stop for a refill or repair before it’s too late. The Doran PressurePro Tire Pressure Monitoring System displays the truck tires' psi so a driver can keep his tires inflated and extend the life of the truck tire tread by as much as 35%, states the company.

Additionally, the display will continue to show the tire pressure for 15 minutes after the truck is shut down.  Wireless signals send readings to a driver-friendly monitor panel showing the precise tire pressure of each truck tire.

The manufacturer says that the Tire Pressure Monitoring System has been designed and tested to work in all vehicle-operating conditions.  The repetitive signals minimize the effect of electronic interference, weather or other vehicles making it ideal for commercial trucks, independent drivers, or transportation fleets that drive thousands of miles yearly.

Waltco rolls out its new aluminum liftgate

Are you an expediter with specialized handling equipment needs?  Is your old liftgate just about to give up the ghost?  Call Waltco, they can help!

The Tallmadge, Ohio-based company has introduced its new Waltco WDL/AP Liftgate.  The platform is built of lightweight aluminum that the company says resists damaging corrosion. They also say that Waltco’s powder coat finish on the steel components will help maintain its great appearance for many years of service.

The WDL RM series offers a wide variety of lifting capacities and platform sizes that make it the ideal choice for wide, heavy, wheeled or palletized loads. The series accommodates unobstructed dock loading because the platform can be lowered to below the vehicle bed height and backed up to the dock.

Features like a Super-Duty Motor, thick, reinforced rails and a closed loop hydraulic system that results in fewer drips and leaks. Self-lubricating, fiberglass-reinforced Teflonâ„¢-coated bearings replace grease zerks that need constant attention. And, the hardened pins reduce deflection and prolong bearing life.

The series offers models in four weight capacities: 3,500 pounds, 4,500 pounds, 5,500 pounds and 6,600 pounds.
