CAYUGA, Ind. (Nov. 8, 2013) – Speedco, Inc. has reached yet another milestone in their support of Make-A-Wish®. On Oct. 10, Speedco hosted their third wish celebration of 2013 at their Kingman, Ariz. location, which sets a record number of wishes sponsored in one year by Speedco.

Thirteen-year-old Nadia was granted her wish to go to the Florida theme parks.  Speedco’s national headquarters was able to sponsor this wish in honor of the Kingman, Ariz. store, which beat 50 other Speedco stores in a 2012 Make-A-Wish fundraising competition. Nadia, who was diagnosed with a life-threatening neurological condition, began her trip on Sept. 28 by flying to Orlando, Fla. where she visited eight parks in five days and had her first horseback riding experience.

After the trip was over, the celebration continued at the Kingman, Ariz., Speedco store, where teammates were eager to meet the young lady whose wish was sponsored in their honor. Speedco even arranged a private magic show for the day.

Nadia enchanted teammates by singing her favorite songs, and everyone enjoyed a meal of Nadia’s favorite food— spaghetti.

In addition to hosting the wish celebration for the record-breaking third sponsored wish from Speedco in a single year, the Kingman, Ariz. Speedco also celebrated a record of its own for hosting more wish celebrations than any other Speedco location over the course of the relationship. This marked the location’s fifth wish party to date.

Previous 2013 wish celebrations were hosted in Cayuga, Ind. and Wytheville, Va., and made possible by the more than $30,000 Speedco donated to Make-A-Wish.

All Speedco locations collect donations throughout the year for Make-A-Wish so that other children, like Nadia, can see their wishes come true and have hope in their battle against a life-threatening medical condition. Speedco has been a supporter of Make-A-Wish since 2006—teammates and customers have collected and donated more than $500,000 for Make-A-Wish since the start of the alliance through in-store donations and a hosted bi-annual golf tournament, Speedco FORE Wishes. Speedco is proud to support the life-changing wishes that Make-A-Wish grants for kids with life-threatening medical conditions.
