Hearings Announced for Fuel Efficiency Proposal

The Environmental Protection Agency and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have announced public hearings on their proposed Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Fuel Efficiency Standards for medium- and heavy-duty trucks.

Public hearings will be held in Chicago, Ill. and Cambridge, Mass., in November.

The Chicago hearing will take place on Monday, Nov. 15, from 11 a.m. (local time) until 5 p.m. or when all speakers have finished. The hearing will be held at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel located at 163 East Walton Place (at North Michigan Avenue).

The Cambridge hearing is set for Thursday, Nov. 18, from 10 a.m. (local time) until 5 p.m. or when all speakers have finished. This hearing will be held at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge, 575 Memorial Drive.

Those wishing to testify at the hearings should contact Julia MacAllister by email at [email protected] , or by phone at 734-214-4131, at least 10 days before the hearing. When notifying EPA of your interest to testify, please provide the time you wish to speak (morning or afternoon), name, affiliation, address, e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers and whether you require special accommodations.

150 lines will be available for those who wish to listen to the hearings, but are unable to attend in person. Note: you will not be able to present testimony over the phone.
