Toledo, Ohio -- The Great Lakes Convoy committee is proud to announce the 3rd annual event at its new location and date. This year the event will be hosted during the Expedite Expo at the Roberts Convention Centre in Wilmington, Ohio. The convoy will commence on Friday, July 26th at 4pm travelling with a police escort a loop of 30 miles returning to the Roberts Centre. Raffle items will be given away throughout the Expedite Expo at the Great Lakes Convoy booth and an auction will conclude the event along with recognition of all sponsors and participants.

“We are excited to have our event hosted during the Expo this year. It is an amazing opportunity to be surrounded by the best transportation companies and vendors in our industry and raise money for a great cause” says Jeanie Silk, one of the founders of the Great Lakes Convoy.

About the Great Lakes Convoy
great-lakes-logo.jpgThe Great Lakes Convoy, founded in 2011 by survivor Michelle Dunn and owner-operator Jeanie Silk, is a 510(c)3 charitable organization raising money in support of the fight against cancer. Fueled by their own personal experience with the disease, they are promoting a cause they are passionate about, women’s cancer. The idea is to celebrate the lives of survivors, those who have lost their battle and those who have not yet begun to fight, by raising funds to support awareness, prevention, and a cure for all women’s cancers alike. Their signature event is a one day truck convoy and auction with participation from all parts of the transportation and trucking industry.

It is an honor and mission that this will remain a tradition, lasting many years to come. The first two years of the Great Lakes Convoy has seen over $20,000 raised and donated directly to local charities including the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen & the Foundation for Women’s Cancers.
