Just happed to me while trying to reply to a soapbox thread......

That can happen if, while you were composing your reply, the thread got moved to another forum, the post you were replying to got deleted, or the thread was locked before you were able to post the reply. Happened to me the other day in the General forum, and the thread got moved to the Layover Lounge.
