I'm not allowed to talk about what I'm referring to... without then killing the listener. Suffice it to say that enhanced interrogation is not torture but it is effective. It's much nicer than what I'd do to them also. Mine probably is torture but for those who want to kill us all just because we're "infidels" I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
So much for teaching our children that 2 wrongs don't make a right....They torture Americans and we torture them...And then take the moral high road that we are superior...in the name of the greater good...
Maybe when we took Germany and found the ovens we should have just thrown the whole German population into the ovens and make things right.

The topic was waterboarding. That does not take place in the street, it is not an in your face method. But you might be on to something. If we drag a crack dealer through the street or a gang member maybe we could win back our youth, the current policies don't seem to work. What would be your suggestion. Don't be a hater, I would realy like to know, and have a civil discusion.
9/11 was not a isolated attack and there will be more. Our enemy does NOT follow any rules on interogation. Our enemy has no reguard for human life, thier own or others. It is no longer a discussion of right or wrong or our ideas are better or take the high road. We have to find a way to combat an enemy that is without courage, who will not come out in the open and fight. Who would prefere to torture, kill civilians, attack "soft targets" and terrorise the world. If you have a better way to gain the information on how to stop attacks like that one stopped in New York this week, you had better let someone know. Obama things that "making nice" and affording these thugs "rights" will work and all will be wonderful. That is a sure fire way to insure more attacks. You will see the results of this silly outlook a few years from now. It will take time but it will happen.

Water boarding does not 'harm' the person like real torture. I've seen real torture and it is nothing like what I seen with this form of "make them speak". Most of it has to do with the feeling of drowning and the physiology behind it BUT regardless if any torture saves one American life, it is justified in my book because of the people we are dealing with.
Why do people keep bringing up Pearl? He was a journalist, he didn't have to be there and knew the risks. He like other journalists are not Americans, they take an oath to journalism first, then to their organization but not to their country - I wish people would stop making martyrs out of journalist.

You are correct Greg, the Pearl incident was not the same as what these "non-traditional" combatents do when they capture our soldiers. It is however a good insight to just how disgusting they are.

Actually if you want to have a good insight, the Nick Berg case is one to read about and there are several other contractor cases which are fit into that category.

Yes I do. Things are never as they seem. It is a VERY strange war. We had better learn how to fight it and quick or we are in real trouble.

Well for the longest time I have invited liberal people with me to talk to some of these Iraqis and others from the middle east and only one liberal has taken me up on that offer and she has had a change of heart after the day we spent talking to different people.
There is one Iraqi explained to her what is really happening over in his country, which was not what she expected. She thought it was all about bombings, killings and haliburton but he put it in words she could understand.
The people here just don't get it, it is sad that we will have another strike but when and where who knows.

Greg, they are not interested in it. They are more interested in slogans and hand outs. I think part of the problem might be that to face this is more than they can handle. It is plain scary and many today are lacking in any form of courage. It is far easier to bury thier head in the sand that to try to face facts. Yes, there will be more attacks. Attacks that will rival the attacks on 9/11. Iran will soon have nukes. Watch for the arrival on our shores of one or more of these weapons.

Went to bed...it was late....
After sleeping on it....I suppose we have the west coalition have always had our passive interrogations....Just too bad it has become so public...no worse then the cop that place a book on a suspects chest then hit him with his baton...as to not leave marks...
I do not say that I like having to engage in these things, OVM, I just know of no other way to fight this enemy. First we have to take this war, all theaters, as what it is, a war. Then and only then will we start to handle the intell and prevention side of it in a real manor.
