I've met a bunch of people that own pits. When they're raised correctly, they can be great dogs. When they're not raised correctly, they're killing machines! Either way .. genetically they're too powerful for my comfort. I would never have one around my family.

Temperament is bred into the dog. You may think you have a good dog, and are a good trainer; then snap! It's all over.

Who bred these dogs? How much fighting was in their lineage, and how far back? You're not going to find that out from anyone putting up a Craigslist ad.
