Amazing pictures of the ice cover on the Great Lakes this year. Been a good winter for the Great Lakes! Too bad they are running ice breakers, the ice would even be better if they were to leave nature to itself.

NOPE! It makes for an intense spawning run. Some thought that many of the reefs they, and many other fish, spawn on are protected from winter storms. It has been my observation that 4 years after a big freeze up the "year class" walleye are far more numerous than in warmer years. IF that holds true spring of 2018 should be a banner year out of my Lake.
