Since most carriers are paying tolls for some loads. Would pay $20.00 a week to have Ez Pass and Pre Pass in your truck or trucks. It's less paperwork for you and the carrier. I know I would if it was offered.

I would just get EZ Pass on my own but I wouldn't want PrePass.

If the carrier is paying tolls, why would the driver want to pay $80.00 a month for prepass?
Think I am confused by this question.

Pre Pass is as many have said Less then the above rate, and its worth subscribing to especially in a straight truck, Ive used it and found it well worth the money, now unless Im doing Chicago, NY, NJ or someplace where toll roads are part of the daily routine, then maybe not on EZ Pass, although its worth the 20 buck fee if your doing I-80/94 and other points east....Northeast is filled with toll plazas just slowing you down and eating your cash on hand.:(

That is assuming you are paying the tolls rather than the carrier.

Okay, your carrier sometimes pays your tolls. Would you pay 20.00 a week to your carrier so you didn't have to pay any tolls at all and you would have Pre Pass on your transponder with EZ Pass. I think they call it EZ Pass Plus, but I'm not sure.

I have considered prepass Dave. I know a few guys at panther that drive for fleetowners and they pay out of pocket for the convenience of not having to stop at scales. I have considered doing the same thing though.

Jake the owner of the truck has to do it really. We took ours out of the truck you drive and the other trucks in our fleet because they never worked right. We are getting the transponder that has EZ Pass and Pre Pass on one transponder.

Oh got ya. That will be nice. Nothing worse than sitting in a scale line for 20 minutes just to have them bypass you.

I dont think I want it from the carrier..Sounds like it could be 1 more deduction on settlement day even when ya don't run the toll roads.. And would this not increase p/work on the carriers end?? Sometimes I have gone better then a week (if not more)without getting stopped at a open scalehouse.
I have the Ez pass and think its second best tool next to the Gps other then the map of course. With Ez Pass p/work isn't that big of issue,Click and print add your T.Os and hand it in for reimbursement. Undecided on the scale house,,thats one time stamp I don't care to have at this time.

20 minutes in a scale line? Where does that ever happen?

Yeah, a 20 minute scale line would have trucks backed up on the big road for miles and miles. Now a 20 minute wait in an Ag. inspection station in Florida I believe and PrePass won't help you out there.

The PrePass plus is just another tool in the ATA arsenal to fight small business.
there's no rezone why that option will not be available for fleet with less then 5 trucks.
every truck that opted to use PP+ is playing to the hands of big money.

the PrePass service is 13.50 a month for ooida members.
that saving by itself pays for most of the annual OOIDA membership.

PrePass is a privet company,
they now use CSA scores to determine carrier bypass rates.
which meant we now getting less service for our money.

hmmmmmmmmm heck no that would be mre than they cover in my case thats for sure i bet i don't have more then $20.00 a month in tolls tops just because they are paying me back for the tolls i will still run a route that takes me off as much of the toll rt as possible. For instance i won't run the skyway period
