Winter Won't Give Up: Bitter Cold Finish to February

Been a good winter for sure, at least around our area. The snow plow guys are making REALLY good money. The motels up north are doing gangbuster business with the snow mobilers and all the local mom and pop bait shops are raking in the dough with all the ice fishing going on. Grouse will be in much better shape too with all the snow.

The Great Lakes are covered with ice, keeping down evaporation. Heavy snow pack will fill ponds and raise Lake levels.

All in all, pretty dog gone good! Looking for a repeat next winter!

That's because the South Dakota winds just blow it off the road...:) And it's on the deck AGAIN this morning.

Part of nature's cycles. Your area is prone to dry years, it's more rare where we live. Nature does what nature does. Your wet/dry cycles are more pronounced, although geologicaly speaking the Dakota's have been quite wet for a long time. Devils Lake is about at it's historical high.

It will swing back, always does. It warms, it cools. It's wet, it's dry. And the beat goes on.

LOL!!! Is it MY fault I see the good in nature? ;)

I'm nowhere near expert enough on the rest of it, but I have to side with Layout on one thing anyway. The Great Lakes, and specifically Lake Huron/Michigan. have been quite low. The snow melt will bring the lake levels up closer to "normal" and for people as dependent on the lakes as we are around here that can only be good.
