Well we arrived here in baltamore on Thursday because we were supposed to deliver direct and found out we had to wait until Friday morning. Now we are stuck here watching the snow get deeper and deeper. If we would of been able to deliver when we got here like we were supposed to we would of been somewhere else by now. Only a couple hundred miles from home and stuck here.

Just watched the weather channel, if your heading east your in for a dandy.Virginia reports 16 inches or better Interstate 81 shut down or 15 mile back ups .Several folks stuck in auto or trucks.Several thousand with out power. Washington DC has broke a snow record for most in a day. Snow will be heading all the way up to Boston. With Blizzard warnings. Good luck to all be safe .It makes the 2 inches in midwest look like nothing.

Oh dont I know Dakota. The last two winters here in Wi. We averaged about 110 to 116 inches of snow. Top that with bitter cold it can be a chalenge. So our little couple inches is a dusting. For a change others get to enjoy it or hate it.

Yes we get kind of hard here it either comes out of Canada, or the Dakotas, or off the lake. you never know what to expect last week they were predicting big snow here we got 5 inches and up towards Green Bay , Madison got 16 to 20 inches. Then they will say were getting an inche and its a blizzard go figure, out those weathermen.

Stuck in Staunton, Va, for 24 hrs now. Plows have cleared a narrow lane in each direction of the street, but have left so much snow at the edges that trucks can't get around. They're parked 2 deep on each side of the road, and nobody's moving. Can't even get into the Pilot truck entrance, it's totally blocked by parked trucks.
The mall is closed. It's the last weekend b4 Christmas, and the whole mall is closed!!!

18" of snow here in King George, VA and still snowing!

Cheri, allot of history in that town your sitting in! Back in the day, that was the western most part of the United States and houses the records of all of the settlers that migrated into the western territories.

I dropped in Manassas area yesterday around noon and decided to bug out for the Carolinas. Still got caught in Warfield, VA and decided I'd rather fight the snow with daylight than the blackness of night. Picked up in Raleigh this morning for a Monday drop in BHM. Glad I didn't stay.

Few more days, I bet I'd have known that - I'm in the process of downloading an audiobook [29 hrs!] of "The History of America" to keep me entertained on the long drive ahead. :)

It took me nearly 5 hrs to get 100 miles on 81 yesterday - that's why I got off the road.
If you get moving north, be aware that the Pilot @ exit 213 has just closed [until 0600].

Here in Albert Lea, MN at the T/A and nothing.Looks like they had alot of snow in the past, judging by the snow. This has to be one of the most expensive T/A resturants I have eaten at.Never again!$14.89 for a fish dinner and a large milk? Geeeez! And it woke me up at 2 am to go to the bathroom.......Nice thing about a van, just cruise to the front door in those times of need and do the duck walk to the restroom.

Out of desperation, no matter how bad of a decision it may be? I'm just thinking out loud here. Some people may still be in hole so bad that any load will get taken, regardless of the circumstances.

So be it...I understand..
but just how much did that load cost to do when taking downtime into consideration...
IMO it wasn't a real profitable, if it even was, load.
