Why Illinois Can't Afford its Poor Dead

The poor can always donate their bodies to science. Then they would be performing a needed service. From what I understand the medical school cremate the remains and return the ashes to the families, at no charge, after they have finished with them.

Keep this old saying in mind, "Beggars can't be choosers". In other words, you are owed NOTHING, take what is offered or go without.

That sounds like a cool idea maybe I will donate my body first and give some future doctor some experience.

As Christians we believe that the human body is weak and has little value. I want to be cremated when it is my time, there is no point in having a dead useless body hanging around. I respect other people's option to be buried if they chose but why should others pay for a professional funeral to be held, if the family wants to have a gathering they can do so in their home or at the grave site.

I just hope when I die they reduce me to ashes an then drop me in the nearest dumpster. At that point I won't care. Why spend thousands for a box and a vault and have some poor sap dig a hole in some perfectly good sod to plant something that won't grow. Just place their ashes in a quart jar and hand it to the family members. It cost about $600.00.

It's a Stainless Steel container. About the size of the plastic jugs you see coffee in, in a super market ( about 2 quarts) .
I would think if your family knows your on your way out. With the Government, whether Local, State or Federal paying your expenses. The hospital should have the right to harvest any organs they can.

You can opt out of paying for and getting a Stainless Steel container...knowing that my dad was going to be cremateed and then the ashes were going to be spread over about 12 of 18 holes on his fav golf course, we recieved a heavy plastic bag inside a plastic corrigated box....

And yes you need to sift out the bigger parts of bone that aren't as small as you need them to be for spreading around.....and yes it cam be illegal to do that in alot of situations...

I believe you will find it's a Federal Law, that if Cremains are to be spread they have to be pulverized.
