If I was a fleet owner, I would not move a driver to Landstar who does not have a strong desire to go. Also, I believe (check this for accuracy) that Landstar Express America will not accept any fleet owner unless all of the owner's trucks are with Landstar. There is no having a few trucks with one carrier and others with another.
Since, at this point, my "fleet" is still a one-horse operation, your second warning in that paragraph, while heeded and will be checked for future planning, isn't applicable in my case.
The first, however, will be germain to whether the switch works. I guess the best way to increase the drivers' desire is to share with them whatever information I can glean from LEAM as to the issues we discussed. I try to be as transparent as possible with them, up to and including access to Settlement information. I've always felt openness generates trust.
