Why do you do this?

Umm???? Good question?

After reading these posts and looking at my own personal situation, I have concluded that expediting is an addiction in which there is no rehabilitation.

Mr Goodtude was exactly right, when he said "EO junkie - and proud of it!"
But let's try to keep the cat in the bag, while we still get paid to do it, ok? :D

We get paid to do this? Ok now I know I love this. I second the Col's reasons for why I am doing this. I have been going places since I was born, and it is even better to get paid to go places.

WHY ???
well , I'm doing it for the Challenge of it , I guess...
at the last truck show in Louisville i hade to make a choice between buying another truck and do coast to coast again for the next 5 years , or TRYING Expedite .
i wanted to keep the life stayle that i had for the last 12 months of not trucking , thats ment keeping in shape , eating helthy wahile on the road and exercising regurally , i made a promest to myself not to get fat again
(like i was after 6 years of trucking .)
so i needed a truck with a shower .
in expedite there is always time for a morning run, or a set.
a good shower ,and a quality coffee are always better then a 2 hours of sleep anyway ...
still need to figure out how to exercise regularly in the winter ...
so Here i am having the best time on the road , now how to pay for all of this .... Hummm...
now that's can be a bit of a challenge ...
Oh well...
The rewards for success are grater then the results of failing .
as i have found out , Expediting is addicted ,and it is what i like to do. nothing like 6 wheeling ...
its a great life style .

nothing run like a
Moose.

I guess we do this for the money mostly. My husband said
there is no other place that we can work that we can make more money in a week than we could all month at a regular job.

It's the freedom being in a different place "normally" everyday. Unless of course you're waiting on a load. I don't like being told what to do and my job is fairly simple.
Pick up at point A
Drop at point B
And be on time.
Other than that...I've got freedom to do what I want.

Linda, I lost my breath reading your reply. LOL
I'm with you I couldn't have said it any better. plus since you did all the typing for me I won't repete it here. LOL But, were from NY, and in the winter I love getting out of the cold. (I don't care for the winter and I never have. To me snow perfect for Christmas but after its over then I take the warm sun and working in our yard back.
