why do we do it

I must ask why do you do it (expidite) the fuel prices are high I read of people going broke, alot of complaining by driver, drivers getting scewed by owners, so I must ask why anyone out there got the answer, if nothing else we can help the ones that are mentioned herein,

Just look in the classifieds. Three repoed straight trucks on EO in the last couple of days. Called on three different trucks in the last week. Two of them had a brother sitting next to them at the dealer. All fleet repos.

However, I must admit that that ain't necessarily from fuel costs alone, especially if the driver got the fsc.

That's the key. There's enough revenue in the loads to make a good enough living. It's just a matter of enough of that revenue getting to the driver. Some of the brokers are charging more with the fuel being higher but aren't passing on the increase. There are some good ones out there too, but enough of them are just keeping the extra money for themselves, using the higher fuel prices to pad their profit. A smart driver can still make it though. You just have to run a tighter ship these days and watch every expense. It seems that a few months ago I could spend more discretionary income while on the road, finding a nice restaurant or seeing a movie, but now I'm making do with the food I pack and my DVD collection and I'm putting more planning into my fuel purchases. A dollar here and a dollar there and they start to add up.

Why do we do it????? Be honest it beats working for a living LOL.... No boss, No one telling you you have to do something you dont want to do, No one telling you you cant have time off when you want it, You can eat when you want to, take a break when you want. Now if Freight would pick up so we could pay our bills Id be a happy Camper.................

Why do I do expedite,or why am I a truck driver,in most cases it's because I'm lazy,and I get paid to travel.I've seen most of this beautiful country,and have been paid for every mile of it.From border to border,ocean to ocean,been in canada,and mexico,there is nothing like the land we live in.It would take to much time to put into words what ive seen and been able to do.Driving a truck is my profession,expedite is the way I make my living.
