Absolutely I have to service my customer. Sometimes I do it against my better judgement; and sometimes my philosophy is that "your customer isn't my customer until their freight is on my truck". But regardless of my saying yes or no to their offers, I'd say we have a good relationship going. Saying 'no' isn't necessarily a life-ending event.
Ya gotta admit tho.......No, slows life down a bit.
Ohhh twe, me tink, each day you have in this business will seem like a life time to you with this attitude. And, even more so for your spouse it seems. If you tink for even a little bit YOU don't have to service your customer (and if you are a Contractor you have only one), y'all are truly sadly mistaken. You can cry foul all you want.........but.....it is what it is in your position. I really tried not to rub my eyes......but they did roll a bit.
To say I am happy at Load One would be an understatement.Everytime I pull into our terminal, I have the feeling of being home.Everyone there, including John Elliott, goes over and beyond to make me and others feel appreciated. The pride I have towards Load One is unstoppable. The pay is better than average, with the all mile pay almost always better than most carriers pay on their loaded miles alone.Load One has most definately improved my life, and lifestyle. Problems in my past life created by past carriers are being resolved thanks to Load One.There is no better company to work for.Period.
I think what sums it all up the best is that not every carrier works for everyone, but for a few,it may be a perfect fit.I used to sit and look at all those vans sitting leased onto a particular carrier, thinking to myself, "Why would anyone work for them??" But, I have learned over time, just because it didnt work out for me at that carrier doesnt mean it wont for someone else.
