who is hiring?

I am looking into getting expediting again and have applied to several ads on the drivers wanted section, I have sent messages to the top 3 or 4 ads and have heaqrd nothing. Are they looking for drivers or not? if not remove your ad. I also sent applications to several and heard nothing. I know the economy is bad and these companies hurting but they don't need to try to hire or make you think they are hiring when they are not.
Just man up and say so....

First of all...Welcome to EO

Second...no one hires...hires implicates an employee....they recruit.
Your either a contractor or a sub-contractor...

It's all in the terminology...

Now that said....yeah its pretty rude to put in an ad and not respond....

I actually took the time to speak with a recruiter.

Due to the high unemployment in other job sectors folks are looking at the transportation industry.

This particular recruiter is getting over 600 applications per week.

Based upon that information it may take quite sometime before anyone responds to an online application.

Moreover, if you will take the time to read the information regarding job searches on monster.com, career builder.com, jobs.com, etc., you will learn that there is a level of response dictated according to the method used to contact an employer.

The response order is:

1st - Phone calls

2nd - Faxes

3rd - Snail mail

4th - On line contact

You may want to call them directly for a faster response.

what the rev said. sending email or applying thru the website is passive. if you want an answer then leave a phone message or call when they open to get someone.

Many want teams. I cannot tell you how many solo drivers have called us when our ad specifys "openings in our fleet for same household teams". Unfortunately we have just not found a way for solo drivers to make it running expedite and be profitable for both of us.

I had the same problem when I managed a fleet of trucks...People can not read or have a comprehension problem....when it comes to ads....they see hire and a phone number nothing in between....If they have a reading problem and can't understand whats asked for, then they are not driving my truck.
