Canned for using a naughty word? Uhm, no comment other than I wonder who died and made them the ruler. Other than that we drive for LS, Why? Because they offer us freedom to come and go as we want, there really is no forced dispatch and it's a match made in heaven at least for us.

I run for three different local carriers out of Chicago, and a guy out of Michigan. I like it because if one doesn't have a load for me the others usually do! I'm not forced dispatch and I choose what I take and am never penalized for refusing a trip. All four work around my schedule with my fulltime job.

I did work for a company that advertises here on EO and he couldn't keep me busy. And when my other local guys had trips for me I had to refuse because I drove one of his company trucks and had to stay nearby the van in case he had a trip for me!

I was with Roberts in the beginning, name change to FedEX CC,then lost mt lease, going to Con-Way Now,there 3 years 'till pay started to get to low,and back to FedEXCC again.Well as luck would have it,I lost my lease again and found a real home.NO more discounts, and they keep me as busy as I want to be.Right now I'm missing all this weather,as truck is having motor work done, and being home is driving me crazy.

There are good companies out there, just like you say it took a second but you found a great home sounds like. What is the "discount" you mention?

The Fed gives different companies discounted tarrifs everyday.I don't know what TriState charges their customers, but my pay stays constant. With the FEd,my pay would vary with every load, some were great, some I just couldn't do.I did 95 loads in 33 weeks, and only turned down 4 loads. All 4 loads were solo loads, that were going to take to much time to do,and we happened to be in a great area to get a team load.

I haul for several carriers and brokers located in various areas of the country. I am now based in North Georgia, but I still have four straight truck drivers in my trucks in California.

I have my own authority and $1.5 million in cargo insurance. I don't think I would be happy eating from only one plate.

You said a mouth there there.I dont think any carrier will care more about your success

than you.

Really, really newby here......Just looking for some advice from any and all expeditor's. Situation: Looking at Fed Ex CC, or Panther. Will be an E-unit (team), haz-mat and looking to get DOD security clearance. We're in Arizona and have been promised plenty of work out west by Panther, due to DOD contract. Fed says they too can keep us busy, just not alll out west. We're older guys, both driving currently for Fed Ex (ground).

Thx, Don
