Stoop to what level? The level that proves you have even a morsel of intelligence? Exhibiting a behavior other than copying what you see someone else post? You remind me of the kid in school who sits in the back, doesn't know his as* from a hole in the ground, who latches on to a phrase or word that somebody else used one time that may have gotten a laugh once or twice, and tries to use it himself to get a laugh. People do laugh, but at him, not with him.

I wish I could take credit for the words below but I got it from someone else. This describes so many here in the "Soapbox" and some on the airwaves of television an radio. I will not name names because anyone with half a brain will know exactly to whom I speak of.
When you work with difficult children one of the first things you learn is the difference between 'intelligence' and 'cunning'. 'Cunning' (in this context) is all about pushing emotional buttons to achieve short term emotional goals and tends to be quite narrow and selfish - whilst 'intelligence' (in this context) requires a long game, the ability to sacrifice immediate comfort in order to overcome adversity for a 'greater good', and a more balanced, rational approach. Can you see where I'm going with this? 'Cunning' kids try to push the emotional buttons of their teachers, parents, police, whoever is dealing with them - because they know how to manipulate emotion and in a weird way are actually more familiar with punishment and conflict, so they do not fear it. The work is about trying to get them to apply their intelligence - which engages their high road neurology - rational, logic and forward thinking. So whenever ANYONE tries to resort to 'Cunning' - emotional button pushing, they are actually trying to get you to engage with them on a very primitive level - one which negates debate, logic, reason or long term thinking - and get you to join them in their comfort zone - and because 'cunning' folks have had a life time of practise - once you're in that zone - you'll have trouble dealing with them. They will have the advantage - it's one reason why policemen and soldiers are trained to used emotion as a tactic - to shout orders but remain very very calm. Geddit? Don't get sucked in - This Palin/Beck is such a transparent attempt at joining to armies of morons and then getting everyone else to descend to their level of 'cunning'. Why? It's the only way they have any power - If your 5 year old comes up to you and demands outrageous things, orders you about and screams and shouts when they don't get what they want - do you shout back - or just sit back and try and keep your perspective and calm?

This is exactly how the socialist ultra left acts but i might add in the cunning trick of them accusing all other that don't agree with them as the ones who are doing it very deceptively cunning.
Glen Beck gets accused of doing way more things than he actually does do,i have seen his show a couple of times and seen a few clips and the reason why he is so evil to the left is because; mainly he just asks questions, ones the left does not want people thinking about

No one is exempt from being a bigot or a racist in many circumstances, it is human nature to think that a group or race is better than another or to thin someone is not as good as you are because of the way they look, act or what color they are. If you say you are not, then you are lying because it is an emotion.
The worst offenders seem to be from the left, they want to keep people in their place more so than anyone else, sometimes because of race, other times because of class. They are the first to stand up and use the race card to stop any opposition, they are the first to point out what they have done to help the cause while d*mning the actual things that have helped everyone. They use any means possible to shut people down, to make opposing people the bad people and if there is an ideology involved, then it sometimes lumps groups in together to make it more like a conspiracy. This includes today's version of civil rights and even in the past election, it was emotion that drives both of these things today, not justice, not equality.
The closed minded seem to be more of the religious self-centered persons among the population - if you don't agree with their way of thinking, then you will go to h*ll. They have the monopoly on the religious bigotry that takes place among us hidden for the most part and when race or other factors are added, we end up with the wrights, Jacksons and Phelps who espouse hate - real hate. These are the same ones who don't teach open tolerance, they teach tolerance sometimes by interpreting someone else's words or basing it all on one or another's definition of tolerance among their peers.
Fear is used to feed our insecurity, it is used to further incite people to act or react on issues that are part of agendas, not really in need of fixing. We are conditioned for the last 40 years by the elite and media to react to racism, from the little PSAs to the playground to our work environment, we have gone through a subtle conditioning that leaves us without the ability to properly react. When we hear the generic word racist, we react as it is the worst thing in the world to be. If we are called a racist, because of the conditioning we have had we back down on any and sometimes all the issues we are fighting for so to examine ourselves to see where we are wrong even if we were never wrong. The same goes for the "N' word, it is used today without hesitation but if someone uses it for what ever reason outside of that race, it is the most horrible thing that could happen, killing kittens in front of school kids is no where near as bad as someone outside of a race using these words under any circumstances.
We have honestly stepped backwards, we no longer are open with ourselves and we don't want to have a real dialogs as we had in the past. We would rather have the conversations about race, or gender in the back rooms where we can all hide our true feelings and would rather allow ourselves be driven by outside forces without consideration who or what they may be or more importantly what agenda these people have. We went from actual unity and true desegregation to a 1940's style of segregation along political, race and gender lines. We have returned to the times we consider our dark ages because we are too afraid to stand up and speak up do to a fear of words.

C'mon man...You can do better than that.. since you brought it up though: for the most part, those closed minded religious racists you mentioned are from the right. Most real Leftys are agnostic or atheist...but you knew that.

I don't consider Jackson, Sharpton or Wright from the right they are from the left and considered equal to people like Fred Phelps who is very very right. It is the religious aspect of this, not whether it is a right or left leaning person, it is the religion that is the binder and that matters.
Most of the right leaning religious bigots are the hidden ones, they are the ones who only focus on one or two issues and drive it home with the same force as the left does. The left, like Sharpton make it a race point, it is all about race and only race, but the right it is abuot what their book tells thenm and only that.
