Who actually uses U Ship?

I used it a couple times for add on fuel money when I already had a load on board with enough time on it, but for the most part the people looking to ship things on there don't have much of a clue what it actually costs to move something.

Most are looking for the cheapest rate and they get what they pay for . I've seen several posts on consumer forums complaning about poor U-ship service . I always respond "So you wanted to go for the cheapest price ..." That upsets them for some reason .

I have used U Ship twice to have items shipped to me. Both times a broker bid them and used R&L to deliver. He was cheapest and R&L was very professional. I had no complaints. On the other hand, when looking to book some loads, I found the general public to not have a clue to what they were doing. All they know is that U Ship is supposed to be dirt cheap shipping. I never could get any of them to make up their mind in time for me to be able to haul it in the time frame I was trying to work in. I never look anymore.

The horror story I heard was about a buyer sending money through PayPal for half the ship charges on a motorcycle. The U Ship hauler contacts buyer after 2 days on road and says he is broke down and needs rest of money to get truck fixed. Buyer sent it to him. After several days went by and hauler never shows up, they find that the bike was sold and the hauler is nowhere to be found. Last I heard, they did have a good lead to his whereabouts.
