That sounds like a nice setup. I'm sure you can't climb many hills at 1100, but that sure is a beautiful cruising rpm! Is it a ZF transmission?

what's the rear end?

The truck has an Eaton 10 speed ultra shift.
Not sure of the rearend.
We have no problems climbing any mountains or hills even maxed out on weight. We just leave it on cruise and pass all the slow moving trucks. On a 5 degree or greater grade it will down shift to ninth then back to tenth once it reaches the set speed.

He has a nice Columbia up there right now,,,$ 46,900 with a smaller box. a 22'...but narrow and low. I asked to switch out and trade 'em for a used 22x102...but he said 5k to do it PLUS my box in trade....ouch....
