No one likes giving up power or control.

But many are willing to give it up. I will NOT give up ANY more of my freedom no matter what those bums in Washington do. They don't have the RIGHT to do what they are doing but I DO have the RIGHT to stop them. After, they have NO rights, only the States and ultimately the PEOPLE have rights. They only have duties. They are out of control. Stick it in their ear.

That is the absolute truth, but and there is a BIG BUT...

the problem with one party opposed to another is one uses somewhat falsely placed propaganda and negative ads in campaigns.

This is how you tell them apart.

Other than that, there isn't much difference that anyone can tell no matter how they flag themselves - conservative or liberal, they seem to be the same.

I hear yea, the republican party really needs to stop with the negative ads n tell us more of what they can do.

They ALL need to get rid of the negative adds. We need to get rid of negative politicians. The ReBumLiCans are NO different than the Dumb-O-Crats, they ALL suck!! They ALL play on fear, lies, and taking away freedoms under the guise of "Helping" I don't WANT their help or NEED their control. I live by MY agenda.

The voters have to be more aware of the candidates...educate themselves....there is some Dems that are better then the GOP and GOP better then a Dem....people should not be looking at party as opposed to the candidates voting record and platform with consistency...a little research into the candidate..who they are, what kind of upbringing..what they believe in and so forth...

The voting record probably being the most important thing here because regardless of which side of the isle the person is on, the big question is which side does he/she caucus with.

Having said that, the argument can be made for one to vote straight dem/rep as the party numbers DO matter when the chips are down and the wheeling and dealing begins.

I think what you're suggesting falls into the "moderate" category and personally, I don't want a moderate anything. If I'm a dem, I don't want someone that I can't count on to stick with the dems and reps the same. That's what's gotten the Republican party in the trouble they're in today, being Democratic Lite. Too many have traded any conservative values they might have had in for the "power" thing discussed in the article I linked to above.

Voting record is a part of the equation, the other part is exactly what they are there to do - represent ME. If they don't represent the needs of ME and my state or district, then they can be the greatest what ever with their voting record and I do not care.

And that we can agree on, Instead of voting along party lines they should start voting with the thought of what the people they represent want.

Schultz claimed his rally outdrew Becks. I really don't know any liberals who are skilled in the art of camouflage, but they sure turned out for this rally. They did a very good job of looking like grass and trees and open spaces. Qne thing they definitely out did Becks group on was garbage! That was a disgrace! You would have thought all the Eco groups would have brought some garbage bags and cleaned up some. They probably just left the trash to help in job creation. Some one had to be paid to pick it up.
