Which is it, the party of silly or stupid?

I read an article about the BIG rally in DC today. It seems there needs to be a rally to show support for the struggling Dems in congress but you know of course it is more than that.

From the AP DC rally shows support for struggling Democrats

WASHINGTON – Tapping into the same anger that fuels the tea party movement, a coalition of progressive and civil rights groups marched Saturday on the Lincoln Memorial and pledged to support Democrats struggling to keep power on Capitol Hill.

"We are together. This march is about the power to the people," said MSNBC host Ed Schultz. "It is about the people standing up to the corporations. Are you ready to fight back?"

In a fiery speech that opened the "One Nation Working Together" rally on the National Mall, Schultz blamed Republicans for shipping jobs overseas and curtailing freedoms. He borrowed some of conservative commentator Glenn Beck's rhetoric and promised to "take back our country."
"This is a defining moment in America. Are you American?" Schultz told the raucous crowd of thousands. "This is no time to back down. This is time to fight for America."

With a month of campaigning to go and voter unhappiness high, the Democratic-leaning organizers hope the four-hour program of speeches and entertainment energizes activists who are crucial if Democrats are to retain their majorities in the House and Senate. The national mood suggests gains for the GOP, and Republicans are hoping to ride voter anger to gain control of the House and possibly the Senate.

As I read through the comments, I got to this one which sums up the entire event as a dumb thing;

From "Greg" - They say they are mad as hell, unhappy and ready to fight. Who in the heck do they think is in control right now? Liberal idiots!!!

So after reading PJ O'Rooke describe the two parties as the parties of silly or stupid in another article, I am thinking the dems are now the party of stupid.

No question the majority of the democrats are the party of stupid as are their supporters. That's not to say there aren't plenty of stupid for the republicans as well but not quite as many as the stupid liberals.

From the linked story:

"More than 400 organizations — ranging from labor unions to faith, environmental and gay rights groups — partnered for the event, which comes one month after Beck packed the same space with conservatives and tea party-style activists.
"Organizers claimed they had as many participants as Beck's rally. But Saturday's crowds were less dense and didn't reach as far to the edges as they did during Beck's rally. The National Park Service stopped providing official crowd estimates in the 1990s."

Leftist groups operate quite differently from the voluntary participation of those on the right. Leftist groups organize and fill buses for the purpose of making attendance look bigger, while conservatives, who have real jobs and responsibilities, juggle things to make them work out if possible. You can be sure that busloads of union thugs, gay groups, enviro-whackos and others were sent in, and even with that, they couldn't produce the same numbers as real people with real jobs who assembled, unorganized.

I have gotten the impression that the dems, or at least their fringe groups are on a rampage because congress isn't buying into Obama's message. I thought about the comments made by one "democratic election consultant" that the anger of these groups are not with the administration but with the country for not believing in the change that Obama wants to bring and they want to see a force of change. The unions may be in it to threaten the dems in congress to pass 'their' laws as they will them and the civil rights "leaders" are aggitating the minority to believe they are all still victimized by the threats from the tea party winning in congress.

It seems to me that this is all amazing, things are finally coming into the open where the independents and the common man can see what has been going on behind the scenes for years. The more labor claims to be victims, the more they lose power. The same goes for the civil rights "leaders" who make their living at making things seem to be against those of color.

IF the left in this country follows the left world wide it will NOT be beyond them to use PHYSICAL force to get their way. Be VERY wary of them, they cannot stand freedom. They wish only to rule and control. They really believe that we are just too stupid to live our lives as we see fit.

Layout,
Our left is like a lot of the worlds right.

Not for long. We are headed down the slope. No matter what they call themselves they are evil. Right, left, who cares which extreme. Neither believes in our Constitution. Neither believes in freedom. Both want to control.

I disagree. I'm to the right and some (especially here) would consider some of my views extreme....but I believe and am FOR the Constitution. If you're talking about those running things in Washington then that's a horse of a different color but, even there, SOME ARE for the Constitution and I would add that that stance is considered extreme (how ridiculous)....you can't use the broad brush, give credit where credit is due.

The reason I say this is the Nazis were socialists, they were on the European right but no less on our left.

Our left think that Nazis are on our right and think that progressivism is nothing but a concept borne out of marx and socialism where it seems that our progressives look a lot like the German Nazis in both form and function. The ideology with the Aryan supremacy and the fight against the Jewery of the world is all replaced with the same fight against capitalism, "democracy", individual rights while aligned with the Nazis' strive for economic security, social welfare programs, a redefined just wage, workers' importance to the nation, and protection from capitalist exploitation and expanding government.

No matter how you look at it, the party which is in power right now is the one that is scattered, fractured and disorganized but more importantly stands for little outside of remaining in power by any means.

I am speaking of extremes. What ever they chose to call themselves. IF the Constitution is "right wing" then I am a right winger. I don't believe that either extreme is for freedom. I doubt that there are many on the right who would truly follow the Constitution. I believe that there are even fewer on the left. I don't know that much about your own views.

You guys are funny, They have you right where they want you, calling each other names, splitting you up. Dont you all get it by now, both parties do almost the same things, but by keeping us divided they stay in control and get just what they want, so keep calling the other party names and such, and you talk about people being sheep, the ones supporting the left or the right is just as much sheep as the others.

Not me, I am voting the ALL out, every election. You might be willing to accept what is going on but I am not going to. Almost everything Obama and this Congress is doing is NOT legal under our Constitution, therefor it MUST be fought. At the polls, in the courts and in the streets if it gets that far. I don't care what party name they use, if they are NOT following the Constitution they are a domestic enemy.

ALOT of what has happend over the last 20 yrs has been against the Constitution, but thats my point. people should quit pointing fingers at just a certain party and calling other party names n such, neither party follows the constitution, they both serve there own agenda and not the peoples.

Is that not what I have been saying in here for ages? The government is out of control. They have been going after our Constitution for my entire life. Now, however, it is moving at a pace like we have NEVER seen before. Crunch time is VERY near. By the way I call BOTH of those criminal organizations that we call political parties name. I can't stand either one of them. THEY ALL SUCK!! VOTE ALL THE BUMS OUT!! NO government controlled health care. NO government controlled education. NO czars. Eliminate MOST of the federal government institutions. We need to take back our power, they will NOT give it up willingly.

That is the absolute truth, but and there is a BIG BUT...

the problem with one party opposed to another is one uses somewhat falsely placed propaganda and negative ads in campaigns.

This is how you tell them apart.

Other than that, there isn't much difference that anyone can tell no matter how they flag themselves - conservative or liberal, they seem to be the same.
