To all posts ... I will send a copy of the presentation to Lawrence and Sean at EO and they are more than welcome to post the presentation to anybody who wants a copy. Sadly, without the verbal commentary, some of the charts will be difficult to understand. The whole presentation was a "last minute" addition and we did not expect the large turn out. It was quite flattering, I must admit, to see so many people attend. In hind sight, we should have taped the event so you could each have heard the commentary around each slide.
I understand there may be differences of opinion with regards to the future energy economy (wind / solar / etc.). Our world will change as our traditional energy resources get consumed. I included that part in my presentation to stir some thought among the attendees. We all need to start to think how life will be if fuel goes to $10 or $20 or $30 a gallon. How will our world change when the largest component of the price of goods is transportation? Will the global economy become regional again?
I am just a technocrat and when looking at the data, I try to make order out of randomness. It would be nice to be able to predict the future and share that knowledge with all the road warriors out there. You all do a great job in an industry that is feeling tremendous pressure.
All I can say is ... keep up the great work that all of you do to keep the goods on our continent moving!
The lucky ones do not always have the best. Often they seek simply the best of what they see on their journey.
Safe journeys!
