I don;t think anyone can tell you which way to go....Underdog..you've been with the Cat long enough.....think of it as you can only be wrong 50% of the time.....turn left or turn right....we've all had a bad roll once and awhile...seems at times every choice is a bad choice....go with your instincts and experience...keep plugging at it.....it will turn around when you least expect it....then you can be right the other 50% of the time....Good Luck!

My system at panther was something like this. Flint is in range of plenty of regular freight in the outlying areas, so I'd sit if I wasn't behind a lot of other vans. If nothing came up in 1.5-2 days (two days in pleasant sitting weather like this), I would troll at a leisurely pace towards a target location perhaps 150 miles away. Leisurely means lots of breaks, exercise, food, sightseeing and shopping stops. Target location is a place I scoped out using qualcomm research while sitting. I would look for places with less vehicles than freight history. I wouldn't go directly to the center of a hotspot but towards a location between two or three hotspots that were close enough to overlap coverage. Most of the time I would get a load before arriving at my target. Resources available to drivers and processes have changed at panther since I was there, but some version of spinning the roulette wheel like this might shake things up if you're stuck in a rut. I found fishing holes not on the map that I still use.

Well I am at Landstar so I am no help but my method is how many LS vans are sitting in the area , how many loads in the last week or 2. Same method for area I am thinking of moving to how many already sitting there and loads out of that area history and with winter coming another factor will be current weather and forecast.

If I were you, I'd hunker down in Auburn Hills, MI. About 30 miles away, but right in the center of Automation Alley. You'll be close to Detroit, Pontiac, and Flint, if you have to go. Plus Great Lakes Crossing is right there along with LOTS of other places to sit and wait. Just head South on I-75 for about 30 miles and get off at Baldwin Road. You'll love it there. JMHO.

Ifin it was me, I'd sit. I have done well along the I-69 corridor towards Port Huron as well as I-75 up to Midland. My thinking is that most of those on the Lansing board probably are in Lansing proper or moved there after unloading in Flint. Those on the Toledo board are probably in Toledo or stretched out along I-75 between Detroit and Toledo. If you do Canada, you should be in a good spot for a direct shipment or a swap going across through Port Huron or Detroit. Let us know what you decide and the outcome.

Umm... that's a fair jog. He's not out in the middle of a cornfield. He's within 100 miles of multiple industrial giants in all directions. I say stay put.

There's a quaint t/s on 23 at exit 88. McDs and all kinds of jerky, from beef, to ostrich, to kangaroo. Just 3 miles from 69 and the 23/75 split.
