I usually buy from my local shop. He works through a big distributor, and I will just pick out what tires I want at the desired price I want to pay, then they are delivered and installed.
Prices vary greatly depending on your needs. Good 22.5x11 steers have been around $275 ea. for me, recapped 22.5x11 drives with snow pattern about $200 ea. By contrast a new "virgin tread" drive tire with snow pattern can cost about $350 or more ea., which is why I use the recaps on the drive.

If you could purchase tires for vans and straight trucks for a few dollars over wholesale, would you be interested? For example, Double Coin RR300 11R22.5 for less than $240.00. Or Double Coin RLB1 295/75R22.5 for about $255.00. These are virgin tires, and you would pick up and be responsible for mounting etc. Contact me for specific needs and I'll see what I can do. Another example, I can also get Goodyear Workhorse LT245/75R16 tires out the door for about $139.00 ea. If you have another van tire you would prefer, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Double Coin (made in China) are the only truck tires I can get at this time, but I can check on specific tires if there is interest. I have Double Coins on my FL70 and they seem to be doing just fine. I will charge a few dollars over my cost to expeditors, since you guys have helped me so much over the past years. You would have to pick the tires up at my shop, when I am in the Detroit area. Seng Tire, in Novi, is not far and you can take them there for mounting. This is a cash only sale. (I am able to purchase wholesale. My experience has been that tire prices can change quickly.)

The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA)has a membership of over 100,000 drivers. Membership is $45.00 per year. You receive their magazine (Land Line), which is filled with articles and information related to driving, trucks and legislation etc. As a member, you can get discounts on a variety of items, including tires. They also can provide insurance to experienced drivers. One of the things I use them for is the random drug testing program. It is easy to sign up and pretty inexpensive. There phone number is 800-444-5791. I have learned a lot from them and would recommend that every driver (especially O/O) try them out for a year.
