where can I get a tvale truck

Can you really afford to operate a T Val truck at $1.35/mile?Have you checked on amount of sitting time you will be doing?
Sometimes the numbers are fooling. There are Surface expedite trucks at FDCC that make more than the T Val.trucks.There are also some T Val D units that make more than T Val tractors. In any case, your second option isn't all that good.Better stick with Custom Critical, and if you really want in the reefer business, and keep the truck rather new, make sure the reefer complies with the new California reefer laws.A breakdown with load of Pharmaceuticals could put you out of business. Also learn what T Val is.

If this truck doesn't make a $1.64 a mile, then it isn't worth using the reefer.

My last fedex run with the reefer was at $1.54 all mile and that was a hard run (lots of deadhead)

I am interested in buying a temp validated truck and am having trouble finding one. I already looked at ellenbaum and diddent like it and refuse to buy from fyda! Any tips on where I should look.

A friend of mine has this truck for sale:

07 Hino, T-VAL, APU, double bunk, ....

If you are interested send me a PM and I'll give you his name and number, and you two work out your business.

With all the weight of a reefer and box, how does a 260HP Hino even go up a hill unless the co-driver is out pushing?

Interesting question Dave, and my only answer is that you buy one to figure that one out. But make sure you hire a team, just in case you need to push. ;) It is for sale though.

I did get the opportunity to drive one several years ago with no reefer or anything, and was less than impressed.
But it would explain why he is trying to sell it.

well be hired on at 1.50 but they send us offers for less,so I averaged it at 1.35. We cant do any hinos under 2008 due to qc problems. We looked int that to. I am starting to have doughts about getting the tvale. Working the numbers it just doesent seem worth the risk. We dont want to spend the rest of our lives in this truck but I hate the fact that the owner we worrk for gets a higher rate then we will. With less truck. to get 1.25 we have to have a lift gate where as he gets 1.35 without one. I know diffrent contract but it still sucks.

I would have a lot of doubts. As you found out, when you start running those numbers through the calculator, picture isn't so good. Might gross a little more, but that is much different than what you might be actually keeping.
You will know they are a profitable option when you see dealers start to sell them.

The only way I would get a Hino is if I was only running Ohio, Ind, and Mi areas being flat most of the time.Right now, I am seeing so many brand new ones out there heavily equipped for under 60,000.If a Hino had a reefer unit on it, it would most likely be dead in a extreme short amount of time, way too underpowered for all of that extra stuff.

after running the numbers we figured out that we would be able to buy 2 box trucks for the price of 1 tvale. were looking at a 2004 acterra with a c7 cat. Do you know if thoes are good engines. we are running a c9 is there a big diffrence? Also do you think it would be wise to get the 2 year warrenty since it has 700000 miles on it?

I totaly agree with you on this one. But if you have 3 or more trucks you can get the fleet owner contract and get the higher rate. I think it should be straight across the board for everyone. Fleet owner or not.
