I read all the time about who has flipped. The ones who have drove all over this country not being able to feed themselves or kids. No money for repairs to have no money for fuel. I just would think no one who be wanting to put their money in this pit. I know when I was driving there would be O/O putting their truck online all the time even they be saying they had no money what the deal we just paying with no return for your work. I know with all the fat I got from companies, shippers, and receivers it was a lot of hate. I still love to doing it. I just had problems with companies and dispatchers being a company driver. You hear dispatcher tell you if you do this you be on way. You do it and that same dispatcher will you hanging in to the wind with safety it just one big game with truckers and dispatchers. Again I say where is the dream. Thanks Linda and Micheal:cool::eek::eek::p

Every O/O is a small business. Businesses large and small fail all the time. Truckers aren't special.

If you think about it for a couple of minutes, owning a truck or van isnt too big of a deal. Thats why the industry is always saturated. Yes, its a business and it must be run like a business, but if you think you can go buy even a new $250k straight truck and have the same potential for living the dream as somebody who invests $20 million in a larger business, your fooling yourself. Owning and operating a truck is pretty much just buying yourself a job. Those that try to live a higher lifestyle on the profits of a single truck operation will likely fail.

If you want to own a real business and actually "live the dream"....find a way to come up with $20 million and then find a business that can produce a profit from that $20 million...then you can live a higher lifestyle.

I don't understands,
my solo Truck+Trailer leaves me with a 6 digit a year over it's lifespan,
my Expediters team truck do almost as well.
that's after all fixed & variable business costs, and before personal expenses.

what am i missing?

I don't know about the OP, but, in many cases with many people the 'dream' dies when they find out that it requires both effort and hard work.

Marten Luther King was more or less a man who worked his hardist for fair pay for work done you look at him for one speach. The dream was more than people to live but to live and work for the advancement each other's families. The dream for me is to eat all kinds of foods. See everything I can see while driving and to make money that will good tooo..... Thanks from Linda and Micheal

Moose;

Is your Expedite rig a tractor trailer or a straight truck? Will get my Team to work on finding a Team for you that will run your rig, if we can live upto your standards. Let me know.

Thanks,
