When I am wrong I would like to Fess up.

We post on here exposing ourselves to ridicule. Thats part of the game and fun. I will admitt that my decision (which really was not) to purchase a Pro-Heat was the wrong decision, but to buy a AP unit is a very smart, money saving tool. Its just that a tool.

That is just one point I wanted to make. I have made posts and been proved wrong, I find myself man enough to fess up to my mistakes. Something I learned long ago, its much easier to say I goofed rather than let tempers get out of hand defending yourself when you are wrong or more wrong than right.

If I post and you dissagree than fine, please prove me or the poster wrong but be professional about it. I questioned the guy who claims he can Survive on $110.00 in groceries. I doubt that but why would I sweep him under the rug, heck maybee he can but I would be curuious as to how it could be done.

We all live once, and I do enjoy eating well, I enjoy being comfortable even if costs a little $, and thats why I am out here to make $ to support my family, my business and to be happy and comfortable while performing my job to the best of my ability and that means being healthy not sick from being so cheap that one jeopordizes ones health and well being.

I know of two drivers last winter who did not idle there trucks in cold temps. One had a cold for over a month and than came down with Pnomonia, the other got Strep Throat and was so dehydrated that he had to check into a hospital for three days. So much for saving $ on fuel. Being cheap, can cost you much more than just your health.

How can it be wrong to post your experiences? All the ppl in the world could say they've had great service with a Pro-heat, but you're the one that matters in this case. I too would say it's a crappy item if I had as much grief as you've had with yours. So to say you're wrong is... ummm... wrong! :7

I have to wonder about the $110 for a month's supply of food, as well. I'm guessing that it can be done, but that most of the food is what I call invented food. As in, highly processed (and very cheap) carbs, the stuff in plastic wrappers, the 5-for-$5 frozen pseudo-food packages, the stuff where the list of ingredients contains little or no actual ingredients.

If someone eats for very long on $110 a month, they won't be walking from their truck to the truck stop, they'll be waddling.

If you notice, that Food Pyramid that we've all grown up with recommends eating lots and lots and lots of grains and grain products (you know, the stuff that makes cows fat). Interestingly, the Food Pyramid is designed by the US Department of Agriculture.

HI

Has anyone considered how eating in their truck every meal effects the truckstops. We are going to miss them when they are gone.No more parking,no more c stores,no more cb shops,no more tv rooms and no more showers. You will have to get a motel room just to take a shower. So if I'm parked in their lot then I'm eating in their resturant.

Don't worry, Bryan. Enough Werners, Swifts, and JBHunts are around that don't have fridges and microwaves. They'll be forced to eat in the overpriced greasy-spoons we call truckstops. Of course, you can add .99 for grilled onions when a whole onion costs .59; or pay 12.99 for an 8 oz steak when you can buy a good ribeye for 7.33/lb at Walmart. Simple economics deem that I, along with most expediters, must find ways to cut costs; and one of them is eating in the truck. Hafta say my steaks taste better than any truckstop's. ;)

No, I'm just suggesting that the USDA has a vested interest in keeping people hooked on cheap, easily renewable agricultural products like corn and other grains, and dairy products. There's no coincidence that they promote those very items as the base of the Pyramid. It's also no coincidence that since the Pyramid was invented Americans have gottem fatter and fatter, and formerly rare conditions such as Type II diabetes is becoming the norm.

But you may be right. There's also a vested interest in keeping people fat and unhealthy. It's more economically sound for almost everyone concerned to treat the symptoms of Type II diabetes with insulin, than it is to just tell the patient to quit eating anything made with refined white flour, refined white sugar, or corn syrup, which actually cures the diabetes in most cases. If the desease is cured, then the drug companies lose money, the farmers lose money, lots of people lose money, since people will live longer and take a bigger bite out of Social Security.

So, maybe they are fattening us up for the (premature) kill! Call Art, pronto!
