I joined the NRA several years ago. I believe it was during Bill Clinton's presidency. The Democrats were obviously pushing gun control and winning some of those battles. So, I thought I should join....and I did. Once I had joined though, I found that my membership dues were apparently not enough. They wanted more. Every day, it seemed, I was getting a phone call or something in the mailbox telling me how my rights were being threatened and they were the only group powerful enough to stop it. They needed money though. They needed more than the dues. It was non stop. Soooo.... I canceled my membership. Then they called to see why...and I told them. They said "oh well.....we don't do that sort of thing anymore...we've had a change in policy".I am thinking about joining the NRA. I'm not much of a joiner, but an exception could be made here. First, I need to do some research on their mission and activities.

"Oh yeah? And your on my phone right now?"
I support what the NRA does....even though I think they go to extremes. I don't want to be a part of their organization though.
You should probably check out GOA (Gun Owners of America) then ... similar to the NRA but a little more uncompromising apparently ... and even endorsed by Dr. NoI got an invitation to join AARP when I turned 50 back in 2011. Thinking I could use the various discounts travelers can accrue with AARP membership, I signed up. I knew nothing of AARP's social agenda. Suffice it to say, I was dismayed to learn of their full support of Obamacare. I allowed my AARP membership to cancel and when they called, I let them know why I did not wish to be part of their organization. Before I sign up with the NRA, I want to know they absolutely will not be working with the Obama administration to implement any legislation favored by the liberals.
