When heads of state use children as props.

We are being told Barack Hussein Obama will surround himself with children tomorrow as he pushes for change on gun control issues. The shameless exploitation of children for political purposes is an old tradition.

Little Stuart Lockwood didn't want to play along in 1990. Good for him. Maybe some kid tomorrow will walk off the stage rather than be played by Obama.

The Jawa Report: Stuart Lockwood : "I refused to go near him."

Nah. More than likely, they'll be given Ritalin or something, to keep them docile.

"At 11:55 EST (16:55 GMT) on Wednesday, Mr Obama is expected to unveil the new proposals at the White House, flanked by children who wrote him letters after the Newtown shooting."

BBC News - US gun debate: Obama to unveil gun control proposals

Wonder which adults prompted little children to write letters to Obama? Likely, they were instructed to write by teachers, parents or psychologists. Just as likely, the kids were given talking points or a general outline to follow. More shameless exploitation by adults.

The 'lil guy's parents should object, IMO, but too late: they sold him out already. It really bothers me to see kids being involved in any political campaigns and/or causes - if you're not old enough to vote, you're not old enough to form a reasoned opinion.
Ditto for the kids who wrote letters to Obama.
If their opinion counts, the lunchrooms would serve a whole lot of different stuff.....

And you know this how?

Well, maybe not all of it was shameless. Some adults are probably proud of pushing a political agenda through the use of children as props.

So you are not the type of person to encourage a child then? Children should be seen and not heard is that it?

How sad.

What's really sad is when politicians resort to the use of children as an emotional ploy to advance a political agenda. The exploitation of emotionalism is a favorite tactic by the Left.

"If even one life can be saved, let's do it for the children." Barack Hussein Obama has declared war on the Bitter Clingers.

 I believe the actual quote was..

" if there's even one life that can be saved, then we've got an obligation to try."

"If there is even one life that can be saved, then we've got an obligation to try. And I'm here to do my part", the president said.

Basically a F/Book cartoon Cheri and most adults treat it as such..But I do agree kids should be left out.
As far as the lunch rooms you are correct again..As my wife is head cook in our school system, she has been forced to follow a menu given out by the first Lady's guidelines..And after just finishing a non scientific survey for the this school year of the garbage cans they estimate our school system is currently throwing away almost 80% ( I think she said) of what is served to each child twice a day..I say let em hamburgers or a pop tart at least they are eating something.. No kid at that age wants raw shredded carrots on his plate..

Then you should really be upset about the NRA's newest commercial:

We are going to get a real taste of fascism with Obamacare implementation. The Federal government, using provisions of Obamacare legislation, will not only use IRS agents to enforce certain aspects of the new hhealthcare mandates, but now is encouraging physicians to gather information about their patients' gun ownership under the guise of weeding out undesirable people owning guns. The government is , in effect, making physicians into government agents. This will cause untold mistrust between doctor and patient. Some doctors simply won't participate in such questioning and some patients will stop seeing physicians altogether.

Moreover, children and other family members can be asked about the gun ownership status of anyone living in their home. Turning kids and doctors into government snitches smacks way too much of Nazi tactics. Privacy is in peril. The State is everything, the individual is nothing.
