Is it just me or is one load a week the new norm for panther CV. When I started with this company 2 years ago I was averaging 1500 miles a week. But in the last 4 months even in good areas I have to sit a week to get a load. Like right now I'm in Iowa and if I called Panther they would empty move me to Chicago. But the run that took me here came from that area and if I knew I was going have to deadhead all the way back. I wouldn't have taken this load to begin with. And if you can't take loads to places like Iowa where can you go. Are other CV,s running into the same thing or is this just bad luck.

You may have to deadhead ALL the way from Iowa to Illinois????? Just saying........

Here at LS we have a bunch of straight trucks running solo and doing well...It all depends on the company and what they want.

I have one van with Metro Expedite and started one month ago. Had 2270 first week then 1500, 800, 1971, then 800 and now 586 back to Indianaplolis. Last week he sat in Birmingham 6 days. Now I hired his sister to team with him so should get more miles. Had a bid in from Indy to Larado but did not get it.

Over at LS in a solo straight, what is a ballpark definition in driver pay of "doing well"? Or if owners what is the gross revenue to the truck in say a year so we can see averages?

If the rewards are there, then it makes business sense, you know you gotta pay to play, LOL

Look who just wake up>>>>>>>Lets see how cheap you can run for......When you in the truck stops and you see those guys with no names on the trucks or if they can't speak English ask em how much there running for(if they can understand you). What kills me is the fact that a lot of drivers thinks this is ok.Its just like same sex marriages thats ok too.

I've talked to a lot of those foreign drivers. Never really had a problem with having an intelligent conversation with any of them. For the most part a very nice bunch of people if your mind isn't closed off to begin with.

I met some nice ones as well. So are they really running for .50 a mile in a sprinter? ;)

Maybe there are some foreign cheapskates out there, but my experience has been that when I post loads the Russians aren't the lowest bidders, and I get plenty of bids from Russians.

It's all about market value. How many class 8, 2 year old, less than 200,000 mile trucks spec'd like this do you see for sale? Almost none. And how do you value it?

I see it as if like to spend less than $20,000 per year on a truck purchase (not including interest). I'm looking at a western star spec'd identically to that truck but 2015 with 0 miles on it. It's just under $150,000. If I take 2 years off it it would be at $110,000 but I would also have around 300-350,000 miles on it. You gotta pay a lil more for the 100,000 less miles on the truck. So is say it was priced fair but your comment makes it look like you think it's way over priced. How do you figure pricing on a used truck?

My caveat is I don't think the truck is a steal, but it is priced fairly.

2012 - 2015 is a big difference. I think 100k cash is more realistic. Used is used. I'd much rather pay the 30k more and have a new one if I had that kinda money. I don't do financing currently. Paying USD for my Sprinters since 2010 ;) It appears that someone bought it, I wonder what they payed.
