What is your company's definition of a B load?

We hear on the road, and discuss in the forum, the various capacities of different van configurations. We hear stories of van operators carrying 3000+ pounds and/or 3 skids in a van. So, just what is the published B load definition of your company? For starters, FedEx Custom Critical defines a B load as a maximum of two cubes, 48" x 48" x 48", weighing not more than a total of 2500 pounds.

Tri-States definition of a "B" load would be something that can fit in 12' of space or smaller and weighs less than 2,000 lbs. Also, if a dock high unit is needed, it would kick it into a "C" category.
Hope this helps also.

At Premium Transportation Logistics LLC, our version of a "B" is a load not greater than 2 skids 48X48X48 (and) not over 2500 pounds. Dimensions that exceed either of these categories will bump the load into a "C" rate. "B" rates are 90 cents per loaded mile, while "C" rates pay $1.10 per loaded mile. Fuel surcharge not included in rates.

I hope this helps - John
