What XM station are you listening too?

God, how true :p...

Stern is absolutely worthless as an entertainer. When I seek that type of personal entertainment, I usually go buy a Keg, find the trashiest trailer park around, look for the trashiest trailer in that park, knock on the door, pass out wife-beater tank tops to all the occupants, or to the ones that might not already have one, tap the keg, and let the Stern life/party begin.

Actually I can say this ...

Howard Stern is a worthless entertainer and doesn't deserve crap.

By the way, satellite radio wasn't saved by anyone except the US government which allowed them to go back on their word.

I have satellite road in my van, and it sure makes the time go by faster. I have never listened to Stern, and don't plan to. XM 6, 18, 165, and 166 are my favorites. I also have started to listen to audio books from the library. Just my take on satellite radio.

1st off I can tell you have NEVER listened due to your comments are ALL factually wrong...
Shows how smart you are......SIRIUS
took OVER xm....why....STERN...notice they call it SIRIUS XM...not XM SIRIUS......mmmmm.I think he was underpaid!!!!

whats good is ALL those radios without EXCLUSIVE CONTENT...like him or not ... you CAN get music,nfl,nascar,nba,oprah.etc.... any where else only 1 place to get Howard....
Im sorry you dont like is show but there is 20 million other people who differ from your opinion.....

its america you dont have to listen...BUT I WILL

STERN RULES ...BABABOOOOOOEY!!!!

just wondering..what do you consider good radio????

Are you SIRIUS with the statement above??? (Yes, Pun Intended :p)

Do you really believe that all 20 million subscribers of satellite radio subscribe just to listen to Stern??

Want to talk facts, or spew rhetoric??

Here's an interesting article written about a year ago covering Sterns ratings and listener numbers:

How big are Howard Stern's ratings? | The Audiophiliac - CNET News

Let me pop out some factual quotes here for you:

Stern loves to count the 20 million Sirius XM subscribers as listeners, and his rabid fan base believes him!

I haven't had my SIRIUS XM account active for a while, but when it was active I never listened to Stern. I was one of the 20 million subscribers, and he was counting me as a listener. That's BaBaBaloooooney!!

He's the King of Satellite Radio, and he works for a company that NEVER posted a profit during his reign (it continues to post losses every quarter).

I'm just waiting for Stern to advise his buddy, Sirius XM CEO Mel Karmazin, to boost profitability by eliminating all of the other channels. Stern is the big draw, so why waste resources with all those other channels? I wonder how fast the 20 million number would plummet.

.....writer David Hinckley reported that "Arbitron has released its first-ever ratings for XM and Sirius, covering April-June 2007, and they show that in an average week, 1,225,000 listeners at some point heard Stern." That's the TOTAL for the week, so at any given moment, Stern has maybe a few hundred thousand listeners.

Hell, Rush Limbaugh is on normal AM radio and his ratings are:

The current terrestrial radio talk show mega star is Rush Limbaugh; he boasts a weekly rating of 14.75 million listeners.

And NO!!! I do not listen to Rush either.

Final words, which is a great conclusion to this idiotic discussion about one of the most over-paid, over-rated, worthless POS radio personalities America has ever produced.

Face it, Stern's creative peak was decades ago. He used to be a very funny guy; now he's just a very rich man.

What do I consider good radio???

Everything that has nothing to do with Howard Stern. Hell, they could create a radio show that covers the sounds of farts from all over the world and if the only 2 choices I had were the Fart Channel and Howard Stern, I would put it on the Fart Channel and snap off the tuning button.

You call him a worthless entertainer. He's worth whatever a company is willing to pay him. Apparently that's in the $100 million a year range.

You need to educate yourself on the difference between jealousy and disdain. Some very unextrordinary people manage to attian huge whealth in spite of the fact that they are idiots. If you want to consider yourself a fan of that sort of uneducated, moronic behavior be my guest. But with the limits of your grasp upon something you don't understand, don't label anyone jealous because he has money. Some people like Stern, the others have taste and the ability to process higher forms of entertainment.

I use to enjoy Howard Stern back in the old days, back then he had shock value and Jackie the Jokeman (who wrote most of the funnier bits), it was theater of the mind and it WAS funny. But now we all have internet and can find and see things much funnier and more shocking than anything Stern can put on his show. I've tried listening to him a few times since he came to Sat radio, other than some really good guests the show's just not that funny, Howard is not a funny guy, he was only as good as the guests and the staff comedians.
I'm always amazed at how angry and protective his listeners can be, they believe him and all his "I invented everything and they're ripping me off....hoo hoo" BS and ignore the facts. XM radio had more subscribers than Sirius when they merged, WITHOUT Stern. And to some people the man's just not funny anymore, get over it.

Is isn't worth a dime and that is not form the idea that I listened to him on the radio but a personal issue with him - directly.

Sirius took the top performing person off the radio for the demographic they were chasing (I think it was 25-35 year old males who had low paying jobs) to attract listeners and for some reason it didn't work but they were stuck with the bad business decision. XM on the other hand was mis-managed internally and was going into the tank a bit faster than Sirius but the offer from the most aggressive company (Sirius) to merge as a way to survive was made to XM and that was a bunch of BS. They agreed when they were licensed not to merge but to remain competitive and they went back on their word. The CEO is making millions, the stock is under performing but the subscribership is rising - and it isn't because of Stern.

If you want to listen to him, go for it, let him earn his money but don't expect me to sit here and not tell you he is a POS.

I like this one 'I use to enjoy Howard Stern back in the old days' ... What you remember him in the early 80's?

I listen only to Elvin Radio, and Hair Nation.

Just kidding. :D

Baseball, Jazz, Blues and Classical channels, POTUS, BBC and occasionally the other news channels, XM Public and NPR Radio once in a while, the Decades channels, Deep Tracks, Classic Vinyl, Margaritaville, quite a wide variety, really.

Are you familar with Dread Zeppelin? A kinda sorta combination of the Elvis channel and the reggae channel...

What a joke.......

Stern was not worth the 500 Million dollars they paid him the first time, nor is he worth the 400 million they're paying him this time.

No, Stern did not save satellite radio as some may believe. That's a line of crap he feeds his followers. You know what saved satellite radio, and sent the subscribers list from 6 million to 20 million in 5 years? Technology saved satellite radio. There is not an automobile manufacturer out there that is not already placing satellite radios as standard equipment, or as an option, in their new vehicle line-ups. XM made the right choice when they teamed up with Delco/Delphi and GM to offer satellite radios in new cars directly from the factory. Then all the other manufacturers followed suit.

Your opinion is like a, well, you know...NO one can dispute that Sirius had 600,000 listeners when Howard signed on and XM had 800,000 at that time. SInce then, Sirius has purchased XM and the combined listenership is now over 20,000,000.
I hope you never endeavor to become an entertainment talent evaluator for a career after expediting. You wouldn't last a week. As much as you may not like Howard or the fact he received so many millions for his signing there, it remains he had a lot to do with it. If he had not, they certainly would not have resigned him, albeit for only $400 million this time around. I suspect you've never really listened to him based on your comments...That is unless you live in trashy trailer park..:)

Oh, and I listen to 100,101,63, 25, and 7

Kinda funny ain't it. And the one's who all of a sudden are stock market analst , talking bout demographics as if thev'e a single clue how radio or marketing even operates. Then again, these are the same charactors that just can't seem to master this occupation in expediting, and spend all their time bad-mouthing the ones who've reached reached success levels they'll never see.
Its quite obvios the one who thinks he knows it all.......really has nothing. Id take the RV on wheels anyday rather than having to crawl into.........nevermind. it's the best you'll probably ever have.

I hope you never endeavor to become an entertainment talent evaluator for a career after expediting. You wouldn't last a week.

And I am allowed to express my opinions here, correct.

"Entertainment Talent Evaluator"??? Is there even such a thing?? Maybe Simon Cowell would fall under this category, but even he's not perfect. I mean, look at all who him and both of his American Idol cohorts have let into the AI finalists show. Now look at exactly how many of those contestants have actually been successful. 2 maybe?? Kelly Clarkson and that blonde C&W singer. (name????) I guess I fall under the same category as the people who voted for all those other "winners" of AI who have gone nowhere after their 7 minutes of AI fame.

My choices are not perfect, neither are my opinions. But, I am allowed to air my opinions.

About Stern, Back in the 80's he was a funny guy when it was just him and his syndicated show on FM radio. I absolutely loved his movie Private Parts and think he was great with his acting performance when he played himself in that movie. But something snapped in him. The people who love his raunchy tasteless trailer park trash language and content are clearly the ones as described in another post above. They are the uneducated, paid what their worth, 25-40 age range, not contributing anything of value to society morons we have to deal with here in America. Me, my taste is a little more defined. I prefer Playboy over Hustler. I prefer Car & Driver over Car Craft, The Robb Report over Consumers Report. I'd rather drive a Cadillac rather than a Taurus. I guess I just desire a little "Class" in my life, that's all.

I'm done with this discussion...............

Back to the original content of the thread. Back when I was on the road and had my Ski-Fi 2 XM radio in my truck, my day usually started out listening to FOXNews up until O'Reilly came on. Then I listened to his 2 hour show he had on back then. Then I mainly listened to 70's- 80's rock, the comedy channel, and every once in a while I would listen to those old timey radio dramas. Don't ask me channel numbers caused I can't remember.

Could be. I can't comment as I don't watch the show.

Once again, I agree.

Many millions of Americans (and Canadians), myself included, disagree with you. But we're entitled to our opinions just as you are.

Hey, that's your perogative. If you believe that material things detemine whether or not you have, as you call it, "class", then so be it.

I'm done with this discussion
Me too...
