The MSM isn't likely to report it regardless, since it's not newsworthy. We've seen countless examples right here on EO of "news" stories from Blogs that none of the mainstream media would ever report, because it's agenda-ized rhetoric and not news. News, by definition, is newly received or noteworthy information about recent or important events. What a teacher has students write down in class, regardless of what it might say, isn't particularly noteworthy or important in the grand picture of society.
There are five factors in determining whether or not a story is newsworthy, versus a special interest piece.
1 - Timing
Since news is all about new, topics which are current are good news. Consumers of news are used to receiving the latest updates, and there is so much news out there, that old news is quickly discarded. A story with only average interest needs to be told quickly if it is to be told at all. If it happened today, it's news. If the same thing happened last week, it's no longer interesting.
2 - Significance
The number of people affected by the story is important. A plane crash in which hundreds of people died is more significant than a crash killing a dozen. What one teacher does in a classroom is likely to be even less significant.
3 - Proximity
Stories which happen near to us have more significance. The closer the story to home, the more newsworthy it is.
4 - Prominence
Famous people get more coverage just because they are famous. If you break your arm it won't make the news, but if the Queen of England breaks her arm it's big news. Some unknown teacher in an elementary school that no one has heard of isn't very prominent.
5 - Human Interest
Human interest stories are a bit of a special case. They often disregard the main rules of newsworthiness; for example, they don't date as quickly, they need not affect a large number of people, and it may not matter where in the world the story takes place. Human interest stories appeal to emotion. They aim to evoke responses such as amusement or sadness. Children and puppies are often Human Interest fodder. Television news programs often place a humorous or quirky story at the end of the show to finish on a feel-good note. Newspapers often have a dedicated area for offbeat or interesting items. At best, an elementary school teacher's curriculum might make it into the "Oddly Enough" column of a newspaper.
So, to sum it up, it's old news already, it has no significance with respect to the number of Americans who are directly affected, it's proximity is Florida about which no one cares, no prominent figures figured into the story, and human interest in the story is to rile up for no reason those with a predetermined political bent to cater to a special interest niche.
Ergo, not news which is even remotely newsworthy enough to be reported by any self-respecting news organization, mainsteam media included.
You forgot the BIGGEST reason that determines what the "main stream media" does or does not report. Does the "story" advance or detract from Obama's agenda. THAT is their PRIMARY interest. They are the lap dog of this puppet government.
One only has to see and hear the steady stream of lies over the issues of whether or not the Bill of Rights will be left intact to see that.
We don't have "news outlets" in this country. Not for a VERY long time. We have propaganda machines who's sole interest is to insure the Power and Glory of King Putz the 1st. They grovel at his feet like a child asking for candy.
