I've had 2 werner trucks. They are spec'd very well. I'd avoid Cats for your operation. Also,if you go single axle, if you go too short of a wb you'll lose ride quality .

I, myself, prefer a Kenworth or Pete.Western Star would be the next choice. They were alot better before Freightliner took them over, but not bad still.A Paccar product has an excellent resale value, and is a very durable truck. The only drawback to these trucks is the lack of room in the cab, being narrow and all.Just sayin'

I have had two trucks with the "UltraShift" autoshift transmission, present truck has 544 K on it previous truck bought at 400 K and sold at 875K absolutley no problems with either truck or transmission. A few months ago International had a bunch of 9400I ex-Heartland trucks that had 435 hp ISX and 10 speed direct trans with 2.64 rears under $30K. This aint the coolest ride out there but it will run until the cows come home and will return excelent fuel mileage along with a big cab. According to Kevin Rutherford on Sirius and the folks at Pittsburgh Power the direct drive transmission with the 2.64 is the most efficient power train.

I would like to add that probably the best money maker I have seen moving RV trailers was an old school bus (International with the DT466) with the first 10 ft or so converted to living quarters with room to put a travel trailer up on the bus chassis and pull one along. Not real sexy but I bet he was making money
