WHAT IS UP WITH FEDEX CC

I have A question what is going on with FedEx?
I have been with them about 1 year and it has gotten bad. I work a day then sit 1-2 days and work a day and sit 1-2 days. I am a solo E unit now one % was miles but I got the some work when I was mile but for less money. Not anything you can live on. I don’t think that they can keep drivers that’s why all the changes like allowing miles to go back to the % pay and all the new deadhead pay and tolls. I am avg 600 miles a week and I sit in TN for 144 dwell hours WHY? How can they not have any work for an E unit. I have gotten offers paying .86 a mile for loads that weight 30,000lbs that’s what expedite load pay they want to pay freight pay and do expedite work. I funny the will pull a team out of a different express center into my to pick up a load that goes 700 miles but if there is to team then they trl swap me even when I sat for 4 days the ran a team around me when I was closer. Now u can only do back halls if you have been out for 2 weeks and are trying to get home not if you have been sitting for days. They is no need for a cc unless your pay is wrong. And they have u sit all day then call you at 9:00 pm and offer you a load to run all night. Now I am legal to run it but I not safe to run 500 miles del in morning. You can when the dir. Are bad and you lost and they ask did you follow the dir. Then they use map quest because they didn’t want to bother the customer. Well map quest is not 53ft trl friendly and then don’t bother asking for the phone # to get the dir. Yourself because that’s crazy talk there!!!! But when I look up the phone # on the computer the have recorded dir to the location its amazing! They quote a customer a price then call to see is u want the load and get mad if you say no. For a solo driver FedEx is not set up to work.

Tavrin I was with FedEx CC In a "E" unit,We ran mostly team runs like east coast to Calif and back to the east coast.Even on the bad weeks we would do about $2500,On good weeks we would do $5000-$6000 a week on avg. With FedEx CC I think you need to be a team In an "E" unit....

I would have to agree with Tec1959. Sounds like you need to get a co Driver and you will be fine. Expediting freight is really not for a solo driver. FedEx has a limit on the miles a solo driver can take each day (which is 550). So if a run comes up that is 499 loaded miles and your 65 miles away you will not be offered that load because your over on the 550 rule. I hope this helps, and do yourself a favor. Get a Co Driver and you will run your butt off and you will have to go out of service just to get a shower because you will be so busy.

Not trying to pick on anyone here, as obviously I've never driven an E unit, but I did run solo D unit.

One line jumped out at me in this post.

And they have u sit all day then call you at 9:00 pm and offer you a load to run all night. Now I am legal to run it but I not safe to run 500 miles del in morning.

I totally understand not running when you're tired, but as I remember, I ran a LOT of night time loads that delivered early am, at least half I would say. Are you turning down many of these? Being a night owl, perhaps it was easier for me, but if you're sitting all day perhaps you could nap, in case you get that night run?

Just a thought... my

I have to disagree with my colleagues about operating as a solo E unit. I have known and met many solo E units that were doing quite well. Location is the all important thing. If you stayed in the triangle formed by Milwaukee to Cincinatti to Toronto you should be able to run every day that you are legal. I agree .86 per mile is way too low but those rates went away years ago. Something doesn't seem right. It might be best to go to Green and have a sit down with C relations and your CC.

We know of two E Unit solo drivers that run the NE only and do very well. They do not take runs that will take them very far out of that area.

expedite is team work, and over night work
a single can make outr very well, but must stay in the indiana, ohio michigan areas, and dont get fooled with that long 500 mile run,pay will be great, but you will then be sitting in not single frreight areas
the one thing the new pay plan will help is the single drivers
i run team, but also run single, sometimes couple times a month
no your not going to have the revenue a team does, but you will make more than most at other companies, but you must stay in the single freight loop, ohio, indiana michigan,150 mile runs, they are a must for a single
