What is the strangest load that you did as an expediter?

Well, actually, I am 61 and live in Tennessee. If Johnny, Walon or ole Hank didn't sing it, I probably never heard of it. Except the National anthem of course. WSM used to play that at midnight every night even though they never went off the air. Just patriotic I guess.

God Bless America, Y'all!

Ugghhh...a little reminder, we are way off subject here. I do apoligize, but smiley sitting in the truck waving at me, distracted me. Sorry! Ha!

Spam may become a delicacy in the not too distant future. The wedding reception was just a ruse.

Also,streakin1 ain't got nuthin on us as we have hauled a jet engine more than once in our D unit.

One of those engines also increased in value the longer it was on our truck. The shipper said it was valued at 1 million dollars, the first person we met at delivery said it was a 3 million dollar engine, and another guy at delivery said it was worth at least 5 million dollars!!

I mean it was a Rolls Royce engine but 5 million seems excessive.

We picked up two pallets of water, on a Monday, in Louisville Ky, drove straight thru to San Diego city limits, then turned around and brought them right back, on Friday, to the shippers dock.
Nice 4000+ mile run in 5 days.
It was a test run to see if our reefer could keep temp thru the desert.

Your insight is sometimes lacking. I dont see any mention of the date of this run, yepper,
you assumed. It has been pointed out what assuming means.

We once hauled a traving display of the Space Shuttle Columbia that included several pieces of the debris. We took it from White Sands New Mexico to Edwards Air Force Base in California. There we had to dirve out onto the shuttle landing area to get turned around to get into the dock. It was an amazing run. Having those pieces of Columbia on our truck was sobering. Getting out onto that runway, where the shuttle lands, where Chuck Yeager took off on his way to break the sound barrier. That same runway where hundreds of unknown of test pilots risked thier lives for us day in and day out. Many died there. We will never forget that run. Layoutshooter

1.Astroturf for the American indoor football league. The Astroturf was stored in two pup trailers and the locks had to be cut off because no one had the key. The Shipper was a repair shop on Staten Island. No one there knew how to run a forklift. So when the forklift was delivered i had to unload one trailer then put my truck to the dock and load it while they cut the lock off of the other trailer. Then pull out and unload the other and load my trailer. At the cons they bought and delivered my breakfast and let me use the locker room to shower. They were cool people to haul for.
2. 15 5 gal buckets to Montreal Canada customs was confuised because they were in a 53' trailer

I was 17 and stupid and I drove on that strip when my brother was stationed at Edwards. The stupid part was I was on a beer run and thought I was on the road we had to stop and wait for a car to go by so we could chase the tail lights to find the road again

We have had a bunch:

1. Original V Rod prototype for Harley from WI to Ford Proving Grounds in AZ.Didn't even know what it was until over a year later while watching the unveiling on Discovery Channel.

2. One video tape from Cin. Ohio to northern Indianna.

3. Baggie with 4 bolts from Atlanta to Statesboro GA

4. We picked up a transfer load in Chicago that came from New York and went to Denver, 4 cases of Lime Juice (quarts).

5. Harley from Talledaga to Milw. Wi on a kick stand. Tied down like Gulliver.

6. Chicken seasonings from NW Georgia to Tyson in Arkansas for Popeyes Chicken. Absolutely the smelliest. Took 2 days to clear that smell from the van.

7. Was in Toronto area and we were directed to Detroit for a layover; however, after prayer decided to rest. Woke up in 7 hours and had a small pallet going to Point of Rock Wyoming and was only 7 miles from pickup.
