I believe most companies set the standard at 5 to 6 years old or newer. The owner operator must feel confident that his/her vehicle will not have mechanical breakdowns. The last thing I would want is to breakdown at 3am in the middle of Nebraska (away from cell towers) with a time sensitive load. Ask yourself "is the vehicle mechanically sound AND cosmetically cool?".
