What I really think of FDCC

I know I've thrown some negative ingredients into the pot lately, but here is how I really feel about FDCC.

In the just shy of five years I have been with the Fed they were good to us for the most part. Afterall, I was able to get out of hauling grocery warehouse products and tractor parts in a company truck. With the Fed I was able to become an O/O with my wife, and we were able to payoff our first truck (Dr-unit) 16 months early. Then we were able to buy the nice tractor we now drive. No complaints there!

As the economy changed through the years so did ALL carriers to stay competitive. Requirements for the drivers also changed requiring more credentials and a willingness to do more things (that some may or may not be willing to do) to keep moving on a regular basis. Many times when people are faced with this type of situation at thier jobs they choose to go elsewhere and try something new. Of course there are no guarantees.

For me, I was ready for change. Enjoying what I do is far more important than the all mightly dollar. With that said, the wife and I have chosen to go into a new field of expedited freight that we had considered before coming on-board with the Fed. Will we get richer there, probably not. Will we be comfortable financially, most likely. Will we enjoy what we're doing, I believe so. At the very least I'm gonna give it everything I've got, thats all one can do.

So I leave FedEx Custom Critical with a word of thanks for the good years that they gave us and the opportunity for the success we enjoyed. We move on in great anticipation of what the future holds!

One more gone from the Fed as I see it.
Pretty negative statement,if you new the whole story, you might not have made it.Streaker 1 had 2 options to take,he decided to go with option number 2.They didnt leave because they hated FECC,and if you new what was going on and why,you might not have came up with your coment

I don't really see that Nightcreacher..just looking it as one more
load you or another e unit may get. Thinning the herd is what the rest of ya'll call it.. I also know that as fast as o/o's leave they are lined up to work for FDCC... Just hope he succeeds
whereever he goes.

One more gone and two more waiting in line to get in.

In this case it is two. But....I think this will be a ongoing issue for all carriers for some time to come depending on the economy and fuel prices.

Are you ready to share the name of the new company? As I too drive t/t also, I like to know what others are doing (and i'm noisey..lol). Most often when folks move on after a long time at one place, you hear some grumlings. Your post was positive and informative. Your new carrier seems to be gaining a good driver at the fed's loss. Good luck to you..

Best of luck Streakin! You have obviously not made this change lightly, and it appears that after 5 years at Fed, you don't just jump ship at a whim. Hope the new gig is all you expect it to be. :)
