ya, but when you take the extra expenses for running the reefer and the upkeep plus any differences in what fedex charges the o/o in weekly deductions and then add in the extras load one pays that fedex doesnt, it might be closer than you think. dont know, that why i was asking !!!

would be an interesting comparison.

The scanner is just OK. Expensive, no return on the outlay and it's in the way. Gotta have it, so we do. More lost money for O/O. Just another reason to keep exploring options.

My scanner has worked for three years never a problem. It isn't in the way at all tucks up in the overhead not seen until needed. Its great for customers they emidiatly see a signed copy of the bol.

Its another tool in the expediters bag of tricks. It can also earn you more money because someone can see your truck and call your company asking for you. People who find reasons not to like it always will when if they were honest there are many positive benifets to having one in your truck.

I don't understand. Our customers sign our BOL's, how does a scanner help?

Not necessarily many times your pickup or delivery are not the paying custermer and only if the delivery was could they see a signed bol as soon. More times than not that isn't the case

We can also scan the BOL and send it to our laptop, just by switching the USB from QC to laptop, [need the drivers installed, but that's quick & easy], thus saving the need to make a copy.
Of course, the QC isn't responsible for that, because I was doing it before with a basic scanner, but the QC does help when customers 'see' the truck onscreen.
I like being able to type a msg to dispatch, rather than calling them.

I may be wrong but the ones without domes work on cell phone towers.
